We moved to Bayonne recently and first time to dine at Wasabi Thai and the food did not disappoint. We ordered Pad Thai, Green... Curry, Pineapple Rice and Fried Tofu. Love this quaint boutique restaurant. I had the wonton soup. Very flavorful and the wonton wrappers are very thin so you can... really taste the scrumptious chicken and shrimp filling. For the main entree I chose the crispy shrimp with coconut sauce andhoney glazed walnuts. It was a bit sweet however, the white rice complimented the sweetness very nicely. For a beverage had aglass of water with lime the perfect drink with this meal. Not to mention the smooth jazz playing in the background. The hospitality at this restaurant is superb! The staff answered all our questions about their menu and made great... recommendations. The food is well priced and delicious! The room is a bit small for me. We were seated near the door and walking pass me when I was eating. For the food nothing that I... will wow over. I could get pass all this and some might seem to think this is nothing but I have never been to a sushiestablishment where they charge for hot tea. Read more
Personally, this is the best sushi / fusion Chinese, Thai spot in Bayonne NJ. I usually order Sushi and Sashimi for two and it... gets you full and satisfied. Sashimi was fresh and cut in moderate thickness which is great because in Japan, sashimi cut isnever thick. The other night, I tried the Tom yum soup with shrimp and oh boy, it was amazing. They use the lemongrass andcilantro on point and there were three pieces of large shrimp. One suggestion I would make for the restaurant is, while it mightlook fancy garnishing the some sushi/sashimi pieces with jalapeno, jalapeno does not appear on sushi/sashimi in Japan. :) Butoverall, i like the creativity and everything is very good. Simply amazing little place with very flavorful food. Order steamed Shrimp Shumai which were perfectly done. For main course,... Pad Thai Country Style and Chef's Special - Fishman's Fury and both were true to their description and flavor. We willdefinitely go back there.
