If I were to envision misery, grief, and disappointment in a dish, it would be this chicken pot pie. It wasn?t so much a chicken... pot pie as it was a watery, bland chicken noodle soup that happened to have bread in it. Like something you would eat in ahospital when you?re sick. It was definitely reheated and not made fresh on the spot. The only reason I?m not giving this a 1star rating is because our waiter was nice and everyone else?s food seemed to turn out okay. The smorgasbord sign caught my attention and gave me chuckle realizing it?s a real word. So glad I gave this diner a chance! We... stayed around the corner in Jersey City for 3 days ?. And ate here all 3 it was THAT GOOD. There was not a meal we ate or a sidewe tasted that wasn?t amazing. That staff were friendly and the place is well run. Popular diner, in town. The food is good, but typical diner food. The selection on the menu is abundant. The service is... friendly. The food is freshly made. You can get unlimited coffee with a certain order, however, the coffee is a bit on the weakside. All in all, it's a nice place to enjoy a meal with friends and/or loved ones. Read more
Wow! What a find! Now this is a real Jersey Diner! I went to this diner off the recommendation of family and was elated to find... they weren?t kidding. First the place was packed! It was busy but we were sat right away. I heard great things about the freshjuices so I tried two of them; the famed orange juice and a #9 with ginger added. Both were delicious! They had a bunch ofspecials and some great combinations so I could get what I wanted; as well as who I dined with. The food came out in a quick andmore than reasonable time. The portions were huge! Everyone cleaned their plates and was satisfied. The waitress we had was nicetoo. It was a pleasant experience and we were surprised with the volume of people how consistent and fast the food came. TheCountry Sampler is definitely the way to go! If you?re looking for a great diner with great prices and real Jersey style, thisis your place! We?re new to Bayonne and haven?t really had a chance to check out the local cuisine. Broadway diner was absolutely amazing! As... soon as we walked in, we could smell the delicious flavors in the air. It was packed but still had enough seating space toaccommodate. Even the ice in our beverages was perfect (hotel quality crushed ice!) . The service was fast, friendly anddelightful. Juan made awesome recommendations and took such good care of us that we left him a 50% tip. We decided that even ifthe food was bad, the way he looked out for us is what earned him his tip.
