Went to SoLou for a date night with the girl. Michaela and Sam were both very attentive servers who noticed what we needed... without us having to ask! From the servers to the hosts, SoLou creates a very welcoming environment!! Beautiful patio, greatfood! The chicken and waffles is spectacular. The food was amazing! The service was on point! Even in the busiest part of their brunch time, the drinks never went empty and... the shrimp and grits were mouth watering (coming from someone who doesn’t eat grits…I’m DEFINITELY impressed!) We willdefinitely be back!! Read more
Two stars because the managers and servers were very understanding and polite , did a lot to make me feel better about my... experience. HOWEVER it has to be said that the environment/ kitchen should have higher standards for the price and the fact thatyou need reservations for brunch . I’m currently 7 months pregnant and ordered chicken & waffles . I was enjoying my fooduntil I realized there was a FLY FRIED INTO THE CHICKEN BATTER .I can’t understand why the cook didn’t take to time to makesure food was fine before bringing it out . Maybe change the chicken fry after so many batches ?!! I immediately ran to thebathroom (almost fell bc the ground was wet outside and it made my shoes slippery ) to start vomiting . Again , the staff wasextremely helpful in the situation but I still paid for my meal which could’ve been free considering I didn’t order flyfried chicken . But whatever . Just take the time in the kitchen & plating to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else . Read more
Passes the vibe check and the food is amazing! Both the chicken & waffles and the shrimp & grits are 10/10; the shrimp & grits... are probably the best I've had in Baton Rouge. I also love the beignet appetizer. My only complaint was the bottomless mimosas -they're like 95% juice. I ordered the champagne bar instead so I could pour my own. Wow! Not at all what I was expecting! When I say I was very pleasantly surprised with the food and service at this hidden gem,... I'm not even remotely kidding! SoLou may be my new local fave!! I'm sitting here typing out this review while one of my dogs isattacking me but I couldn't wait to do a write-up on this place. SoLou has fast friendly service, SUPERB food, deliciousrefreshing adult beverages, but limited parking. Unless you crave the thick sweltering hot humidity and want to sit outside onthe patio, do yourself a favor and belly-up to beautiful fully stocked bar!! The chairs are the most comfortable bar chairs I'veever planted my rear in and you'll always get the best service at the bar! Let me know your thoughts if you eat here! The food here is amazing! I had the Solou Burger without the onions and it was awesome (also the one thing I did not take a... photo of!). Appetizers were great - we had the corn dogs and fried cauliflower. Spacious outdoor area. Friendly serve. Clean. Put this place on your list! Read more
Their brunch along with bottomless mimosas are good! The appetizer of shrimp corn dogs, pictured below are so good with that... dipping sauce and the cotton candy gives a good touch to the end of your time there. I have been several times and have liked itevery time. Read more
