I’m not sure what to say at this point. I have eaten from here before and don’t remember the food being like this. The first... picture is the Voodoo Chicken and as you can see the chicken is smaller than the sides for about 12$. The other picture is oneof grilled chicken that is extremely hard. Not even chicken jerky for 12$ The last picture is of the red beans and rice. Mycoworker found a hair in her dish and immediately stopped eating it. She attempted to call the restaurant and got no answer onthe first try and then got the voicemail on the second try. This will be the last time I will eat from Rouge Rabbit. Read more
This review is specifically for the coffee shop part of the restaurant, called Bayou Beanery. It's a nice place to get some... coffee or frozen treats, in an area that doesn't have many options nearby. Also, I found the staff to be friendly andaccommodating. The 2nd time I went, I accidentally came in after their closing time. The door happened to be open, and I walkedin, not knowing they close an hour early on Fridays. They still took my order and everything, so that was very kind. They dohave an actual espresso machine. I felt the need to say that because a lot of places that don't specialize in coffee will put"latte," "cappuccino," etc. on their menu when the drinks aren't really espresso drinks at all. As far as I can tell, this shopis at least attempting to offer real espresso beverages. The rest of my review is going to be critical, but mainly for thepurpose of providing feedback that I hope will help them improve. The couple times that I went were during their opening week,so I understanding that they are trying something new and maybe still finding their footing. My friend ordered a cappuccino,and there was no foam on it at all. When it was being made, I could hear the steam wand screeching (a sure sign that the baristais not aerating the milk). My other friend ordered a strawberry smoothie, which their menu claims is made with ice cream. I'venever heard of a smoothie being made from ice cream. That sounds more like a milkshake to me, but hey, "a rose by any other name. . ." right? And I'm never gonna hate on ice cream. But my friend tasted it and said that it was watery and not very creamy orflavorful. Sad day for her, sad day for ice cream. :( Both times that I went, I got a frappe. The guy who took my order keptcalling it a "Frappuccino," which is a Starbucks trademark, so they may want to be careful with that. The taste was decent, butnot what I expected. Love this place! Can’t beat the prices! Shrimp Caesar salad is my favorite.
There was 8 of us and we ordered all sorts of food. Sandwiches with soft bread made the poboys and sandwiches top notch. Cheese... grits, candies sweet potatoes, and the dirty rice are delish. The owner Chris was so wonderful. She made us feel so special eventhough she was busy. Read more
I've had several different meals and enjoyed them all but my go to meal is the Grilled Shrimp Cesar Salad ???? I always add egg,... extra shrimp or grilled chicken as a personal touch. One dish that I wish they'd bring back is the Mardi Gras Pasta ???? it wasso delicious, I honestly don't know why they stopped selling it. At this point I may have to ask for the recipe ???? I have had the breakfast quite a few times and have never been disappointed. It is very good and you get a good portion size.... The service is fast. Definitely one of my go to places for breakfast. You can't beat a good homemade breakfast for $5. Read more
