This was our first time trying Fufu with Egusi soup. We looked up the restaurant and placed an order. Once we arrived we waited... less than 10 minutes. The owner was nice and informative on what we were ordering. The meal was delicious and we aredefinitely going back. Read more

so good! my mom and i got their beef egusi soup and fufu, tasted AMAZING. don?t let the reviews scare you as long as you call... and order ahead you?ll be fine. the lady is a little rough around the edges but she?s not rude or anything like that what otherpeople are saying. as long as you call ahead and wait for your text you?ll have a good experience. we were coming from aboutthirty minutes away so i called when we left and as soon as we pulled in i got the text our food was ready so it was timedperfectly. paid 30 dollars, fifteen each. It was good to me. The only problem I had was it being listed as a restaurant but you can?t dine in. Can?t even order your food... in the establishment. I ordered chicken egusi with fufu and plantains. I had to get it spicy because normal didn?t taste likeanything to me. So if you?re trying it for the first time order spicy trust me. Read more

I have had their chicken and rice, their pepper soups, and their Egusi. All of them were top-notch! I even sent a new Baton... Rouge resident the location and address. It's that good! Granted, I'm in no position to criticize or praise its authenticity, but as a Louisianan by birth, I know it's what Louisiana chefs have been trying to cook for years! I wish I could give it 8stars! I rarely give 5 stars, but this deserves it. Long live Edo state. The only thing I'd change is adding Liberian options tothe menu, but it's not fair for me to DEMAND that a Nigerian add Liberian recipes. Read more

I can't comment about the food. However, we were told upon arrival "Orders by phone only" and were told to go back outside and... the menu was on the door and that if we had any questions we could pop back in to ask about it. If I can come in to ask youquestions about the menu why can't you just take my order? It made zero sense. My brother and I went back to our car and thecustomer that had just picked up her order was really nice and told us the lady is wonderful (she actually did seem very niceand friendly) and makes good food and for us to give her a chance. However, we were on a day trip to BR and had already checkedout of our hotel, I was not about to eat this kind of food in my car and it was 100 degrees outside I'm not going to sit outsideat a park or anything to eat it either. So we ended up going else where. Maybe one day I'll give it another try. Read more

First experience: update at the bottom from the second visit I got the Egusi it was my first African cuisine experience. I was... hoping for a more flavorful dish and expected a little more spice and the meat to be super tender. If those things were so Icould give it 5 stars. Needs more flavor for me. Not bad but just wasn't what I was expecting. Fufu is nice reminds me of mashedpotatoes. I will give it another try. Update: on yesterday I stopped by and had the peanut soup with beef and fufu it wasgood. I got it extra spicy. I would like a little more flavor but overall it was good and very hot. They can also put utensilsin the bag as it was hard for me to eat my food. The food does not make you feel stuffed, yet very unique taste. I love tryingdifferent cultural dishes and appreciate their dedication to preparing quality dishes. Read more
