My husband and I considered using Southside BBQ for our wedding caterer, but ended up using them for our rehearsal dinner... instead (not because the food wasn't amazing, just because lots of weddings in TX serve BBQ). We were so happy with thisdecision. Our rehearsal dinner was 70 ish people, but Southside was able to accommodate us in the covered patio with no problem.We were completely separate from the rest of the dining room and had dedicated staff members. We knew how incredible the foodwas from our tasting almost a year ago, but our guests were just amazed. It was awesome to introduce our families (from NewJersey, Iowa, and Missouri) to some real Texas bbq. We served brisket, smoked turkey, lamb ribs, bacon wrapped sausage, mac ncheese, coleslaw and potato salad. The lamb ribs were my favorite thing. We didn't have the best experience with our firstcatering gal (very nice, just not terribly responsive) but once my husband asked to work with someone else, we had greatservice. Robert Wells the head of catering) was delightful to work with and even brought in specific beer and wine for us,outside of what the restaurant usually serves. Lynda, the GM of this location, was also fantastic and helpful. Robert brought mean apron to wear to protect my white jumpsuit, brought in tea and water pitchers that I forgot to order, and took some groupphotos for us. Amazing food, service and experience. Dined in at Southside Market & BBQ in Bastrop on a Sunday around 11:30am. No line and plenty of tables to choose from. There was... a line around 12:30pm when we left. Got two- 2 meat plates and a sausage slammer to try a bit of everything. Everything wasreally good! The brisket was super juicy and the sausage was really good. I am a turkey BBQ person and the turkey had amazingflavor. The sausage slammer is wrapped in bacon and has a cheddar stuffed jalapeno in the middle. I will likely get one of theseevery time I visit. We also liked all of our sides but felt the beans and Cole slaw were exceptionally good! I think it will bea tough choice every time we come here to eat. Overall a solid 5 star for food quality and restaurant cleanliness. Alsoappreciated the pickle/onion bar, the beverage choices, and the original or spicy BBQ sauce options. Read more

Great Texas Bar BQ they originated with the first market in Elgin Tx. This one in Bastrop same just little nicer building. This... is classic Texas style meat,beans fixins. If you go eat meat lots of meat. The only thing they need to work on is the potatosalad to dry. Read more
