Went for take out,made it home , I was given the wrong food. I should have checked it. Tried to call but there phone was off the... hook. I sent my husband back up there. They knew they had given us the wrong food. My husband told them that he wants it fresh.The young lady told him that it would be fresh. So I guess he believed her. So she gave him the food we ordered the first time.Food wasn't hot nor fresh. We work to hard to just give our money away. We want what we paid for. So, since there closed andwant answer the phone. Entered the building and felt welcomed from the staff. Our attendant Morgan gave us her suggestions and her recommendations.... Choose the famous hot chicken with Mac and cheese and potato salad. The hot chicken didn?t disappoint but the MAC AND CHEESE wasFIRE!!!!! Potato salad was sweet so there?s that. I also ordered the catfish plate. Received 3 pieces of fish with beans andcoleslaw. The fish was delicious and the slaw was on point. The beans were really good. Although I thought the catfish plate wasa bit expensive?I wouldn?t get again unless they lower the price. One of their better locations in the Memphis area - the amount of batter is more and crisper than others I have eaten at. Only... the sadly now defunct Mrs. Winners chain had better fried chicken to my taste. If you like your chicken on the spicier side,Gus's is the place though. Various amounts of chicken come with white loaf bread and two sides. Sides include Baked Beans.Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Seasoned Fries, Fried Rice, Mac & Cheese. This chicken is awesome. The macaroni and cheese is good as well. Fried okra is great as well. We had a party of 7 so there was... about a 15 minute wait on a table. Waitress was very attentive. We never had an empty glass. Great overall experience ! Read more

The chicken was fried well, but flavorless. The sides were good though (baked beans and potato salad). Customer service was A+... and the sweet tea on point. Came in was greeted and was told to pick any available table. Our server came quickly and took our order.
