Birthday lunch with my life long bestie! Hadn't been here in years! Murphy's started in 1946, and is famous for it's 'Hot... Hamburger Gravy Over All'! Starts with a layer of white bread toast, then topped with a large, thick choice ground beef pattie,then covered with a huge portion of french fries. And I don't mean the frozen variety! I mean scrumptious, long hand cut freshpotatoes, the cherry on top is the thick, rich, beefy, brown gravy poured over all! (You can also add cheese & sauteed onions ifdesired!) The other thing Murphy's is famous for is their House salad dressing! Creamy and Garlic-ie! I remember eating clubcrackers with house dressing as a kid while we waited for our food! So yummy! Our waitress was helpful and attentive, and mybestie got a free piece of the pie of her choice for her Birthday????! She chose chocolate pie....my favorite is thecoconut-cream pie! So a Bartlesville, OK staple since the 1940's. Famous for their steaks and the Hot-hamburger (what we go for). Fast friendly... service and delicious food. Be ready for a wait during the weekend. Gravy over all is really all you have to know when ordering from this local favorite. The Hot Hamburger is a one of a kind... creation that you have to try when coming here. I know they have other things on the menu, but I haven?t ever tried anythingelse, the hhb is that good. Is it healthy, no, and who cares. If you want a great memory, full belly and that comfort foodexperience, then get the Hot Hamburger with gravy over all, you won?t regret it.
