This place was so cozy, small restaurant but the service was great! The food was 10/10 and it reminded me of The Keg but more of... a family cozier smaller less fancier vibe. The only negative part of my experience was that I requested them to surprise with adessert for my friends birthday and called twice to remind them and made multiple of hints to the waitress and it neverhappened.. Came here for a dinner with my girlfriend for the first time on Saturday Oct 15, 2022. Had a reservation at 6:30 pm but couldn?t... make it due to some last minute issues. I called in at 6:15 pm requesting if it could be pushed to 8:00 pm and the receptionistwas very understanding, courteous and accommodating. I arrived at 7:55 pm and was seated immediately. The wait staff was veryattentive and explained the specials and menu very well which made making our decision on choice a lot easier. We started withthe tuna appetizer served in two ways. For entrees we got the ribeye steak and lamb chops. Both the appetizers and the mainstasted amazing and were cooked to our specified doneness. Our only complaint was that it did seem a bit cramped as our table wasreally close to our neighbor. Overall the food and customer service was great. The price was reasonable for a higher endrestaurant and we do feel we got the value for what we paid. Would definitely come back again. Read more
Very nice fine dining experience on a Thursday evening. The food was delicious and the servings were the right amount for me.... Our server was great and was able to accommodate our requests. I believe they were slightly understaffed as our server was alsodoing the job of the host and the food took a little while to arrive. The doneness on the lamb I ordered was medium but as youcan see by the photo it was a little under. Still, everything tasted great and it was a very good evening out. I look forward tobeing back. The food is fantastic. I had the salmon dish feature, which is not the same salmon dish on the menu. My wife ordered the... salmon plank dish from the menu and the feature option was much better, as it came with a delightful sauce. The rest of ourparty ordered the pecan crusted chicken, the bacon wrapped filet mignon, the pan seared pickerel and an off-menu item; a veganmushroom risotto. Everyone said that their meals were extremely good. We also had a few appetizers; chicken wings, bruschetta,salad, etc. and those were all great too. Our only bit of constructive feedback is that the washrooms are not wheelchairaccessible. We had a person in our party that recently had major foot surgery and he had to walk down and up two flights ofstairs to use the facilities. It would also be nice if they had some better desert options. Perhaps add some sort of cheesecakeor iced cream cookie dish. A vegan desert option should be offered too, since they offer off-menu vegan mains. Overall, it wasstill a very good experience. The staff is super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is great. We enjoyed our dinner and experience here. Service was great and the food was good. We got the escargot, bang bang shrimp, lamb... chops, pickerel, and raspberry truffle wedge. Portions were okay for the price, and all of our food was well cooked. We?ll beback :) Read more
This Crazy Fox Bistro does not disappoint. My parents are from out of town and wanted a restaurant which had variety, good food... and wasn't hectic. The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly. I had the lamb and it was fantastic. Only critiquesare the fact that I'd like to see sort of crab dip as an appetizer and at least one dessert without berries or booze. The othersI ate with had the Salmon special (excellent), crusted chicken (excellent), Duck (excellent) and the veal parm (excellent). Iwill be back again and would recommend to anyone looking for a new spot to try out. Read more
You must go! The Crazy Fox is an outstanding dining experience if you're in the Barrie area. The menu has been perfected over... the many years this bistro has been open. The cuisine combined with the wine list, service and atmosphere make this unique spotone you will want to return to. David and his staff always make each guest feel welcomed.
