Been here three times, love it. Atmosphere, food's excellent. I always pick seafood so, I might be biased! I do prefer the older... part of Jack Russell's. I missed the hot pretzel that was always just a given.(?) I also don't feel *tin should ever be used fora meal; white platter. Other than the tin, the foods really great. I've not had one bad experience but would request, not haveit be like a cafe, go back to pretty white platters. Read more

We saved the best place for last on our visit to Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park. We got there not long before closing as we had... been out hiking all day, but they welcomed us in with with nothing but smiles. Our waiter (his name escapes me- but he was veryoutgoing and was clearly an avid hiker who had grown up in the area) was absolutely wonderful and was super friendly. The fooditself was also wonderful- it was the best we had in Bar Harbor. We started with an appetizer of fried calamari which wasperfectly cooked and tender. Then we tried the lobster mac & cheese and the surf and turf combo with a whole boiled lobster anda NY strip steak (paired with fingerling potatoes and asparagus). Everything was cooked to perfection, but especially that freshcaught lobster. We finished the night off with sharing their fudge brownie sundae, it was absolutely delicious. Everything was a10/10. When you are at most establishments past closing, you normally get the feeling that the waitstaff would like for you toleave so they can go home (reasonably so- and we would never try to stay past closing anywhere any longer than necessary)- butthe individuals working at Jack Russell's made us feel as if we were part of their family there, engaging in casual conversationwith us about our hiking adventures and hometowns, etc. even after we had finished our meals. It really was a delightfulexperience all around and our only regret is that we did not get to dine there another day as we had to head for home the nextmorning. But we will be back again in the future for more hiking and "consequently"- another dinner at Jack Russell's. Highlyrecommend you give them a try if you are in the area. Read more

Beautiful restaurant, we were promptly seated upstairs and the service was excellent. The salad was very good, fresh greens with... just enough veggies in it. The dressing was a little bit shy. I expected the steak tips to be the high point of my meal, butthey were a big disappointment-dry, overcooked, flavorless. They were very small bits of meat, so i can't even imagine how theycould be cooked to medium rare. Read more

We chose this restaurant because we were staying across the street & it was convenient to get to. The restaurant wasn't very... busy for a Friday night. We were seated on the 2nd (forget about you) floor. We were brought water & our waitress took ourdrink order & brought us drinks about 5 minutes later. Then 15-20 minutes later we got a pretzel & mustard basket. Aboutanother 30 minutes went by and we were finally served dinner. The waitress never came back between the pretzel basket & dinnerto ask if we needed any beverage refills. After we were served dinner our waitress leaned against the window close to our tablethe entire time we ate & quickly cleared the plates. It was odd having wait staff hover over us as we ate. The steak wasordered medium done & came out well done. The salmon was good & so was the Lobster Mac & Cheese. There could have been morechunks of Lobster to justify the market price. The overall experience was over priced & disappointing. The atmosphere wasnothing special. Read more

Very good place overall. Had fish and chips which was good, although the breading wasn?t the best I?ve had. Clam chowder was... excellent. Steak was delicious. Very nice view, especially from the second floor, although it was very warm up there. Read more

I feel like I paid high class prices for "Denny's" quality. Sorry but the experience was rough between reheated crab cakes, old... lettuce and a cracked glass, kinda not feeling value. I heard some questionable reviews, but wanted to try anyway. Fun locationand atmosphere, but prices and quality aren't worth it. Read more

Very lovely place, was able to come for lunch with my dog. We shared the scallops & petite filet appetizer with fries. I also... got a Sand Beach Rules drink, which reminded me of a bourbon honey, it was delicious. Steak & scallops were cooked perfectly. Then I had a blueberry crumble dessert with an extra scoop of ice cream for my dog. Service was excellent and food delicious. Ifthis weren't my last day I'd certainly be back! I'm hoping to plan a fall shoulder season trip, so perhaps we'll be back inthen!! Read more
