Somewhat disappointing take on a modern ramen joint. We stopped in for a midweek lunch, and the counter person was very polite... and helpful. I ordered a miso ramen with some typical add-ons (chashu, tamago, etc.), and we looked for a table to sit down at.The place was empty, but most tables were still dirty and sticky, so we had to switch spots a couple times. When the ramenarrived, it somehow just looked off. Normally miso broth is cloudy and rich, this seemed watery and separated. The noodles werevery similar to what you'd find in a packet of Top Ramen, and the tamago (egg) was still cold and liquid in the center. I willgive credit to the chashu; the pork was thick and fatty, and was probably the only thing that stood out. The overall flavorprofile seemed more like a generic attempt at ramen, rather than the genuine article. As a visitor from out of state, maybe I'mspoiled for choice living in a major city that's a culinary destination, since this is a smallish town in central Maine, buteven without other competition, I would expect better ramen than this. The base makes the soup! Tasteless broth with a fancy presentation. My wife and I stopped in while we were in Bangor for an... Arts festival. I was excited to see a ramen spot and we hastily walked right in. The room was poorly lit, staff was uninvitingand the menu was large. After waiting for what felt like an excessive amount of time for our meals, our dishes came. Lookingdelicious and full of toppings, I was quickly disappointed with the absolute lack of flavor. I would suggest working on thebase of your soups far before you add the complexity of so many options. I will not be visiting this establishment again. Read more

In what universe does this constitute as Tonkotsu Ramen? Not in this one or any one that I know of. Please don't let the... picture of the bowl of noodle fool you to think that it good it is not. The broth which was supposed to be Tonkotsu was lukewarm water with the remnants chicken/pork flavor and boiled broccoli. The noodles had as much consistency as baby food and onceyou pick it up it just falls apart. I would rather eat a $1 cup of noodle from the supermarket than this bowl of noodle. Doyourself a "flavor" and go anywhere else besides this place. Somewhere my ancestors are rolling in their graves. Read more
