We had a fabulous time sitting in the outdoor area on Banff Avenue with view of Cascade Mountain yesterday afternoon. Food, ... price and service was great! The pub itself looks decent but do not order any food to eat! We ordered fish & chips, the fish was frozen highliner brand, no... taste whatsoever. There is only 1person working at the bar & that same person is also cooking your food you've ordered. On thepositive side, the atmosphere is lively due to the TV screens and VLT's. Read more
Just take a photo of the sign and keep walking! Today was our first day in Banff and this pub was a place we should have passed... on. As others have mentioned, there is no warm welcome and it is NOT a British pub. My husband is British and as soon as we sawthis place he got excited. He couldn't even understand my husband's accent and asked him several times to repeat his drink.Then, as soon as I order mine, he goes, "It's cash only". Ummmm, it's 2022 and post pandemic, yet you have a very sketch ATMavailable and do not take cards. It just felt very grimy and as the old adage goes, "If it doesn't feel right, it probablyisn't." He clearly did not want us there. We just got up and walked out. Yes, we could have plopped down cash or withdrawn atthe ???? to prove a point, but we just walked out. If you want to enjoy the rest of your holiday, do NOT stop here. If you arefemale, definitely don't stop---you'll probably be refused service anyway ???????????. Friendly bar staff and served immediately. Reasonable price for a pint. Limited selection of draft but what they had in tap... included all the essentials. Pool tables, slot machines and plenty of TV's. A little tucked away which only helped to add to theatmosphere. Only issue was it is cash only which is only a minor inconvenience when there is a cash machine in the bar. Woulddefinitely return again. Read more
