This was my first time visiting. The customer service was good. I ordered the medium curry goat meal with rice and beans and... cabbage. I also ordered a side of jerk chicken/on the menu as jerk chicken only. I received 4 big pieces of chicken. I was notexpecting that. Very nice serving size for the price. The cabbage tasted good. The rice was kind of soft. It didn't taste bad,but it wasn't great. The curry goat was cooked perfectly, but lacking on the curry taste. I loved the fat to meat ratio. I'd saythe serving size of the goat was small. Looks bigger in the pics as I tried to move some of the meat around. There were a lot ofpotatoes. The prices have increased. I am extremely upset with the food on Dec 24th, 2021 .I spent about $60. Yup I got Oxtails, jerk chicken, Curry Chicken and... Goat.. it wasn't season well. Very embarrassing because I brought the food for friends to share after I spoke so highly of thisrestaurant. The only thing was good was the beef patties and some pieces of the not well done jerk. I practically had to hadseasoning to everything and recook/ do something to it. I drive over 25min to get there. I am really upset ???? Read more
Their food is really good. I have been going to them for years, since they were on greenmount. I recommend the curry chicken,... curry goat, jerk chicken and ox tails. I gave 3 stars because they take an extremely long time to make your plate and the foodis already cooked. You are not allowed to call your food in ahead of time and it is so hot in there you are better off goingoutside. They should really invest in a fan or some air conditioning. Also check your food while you are in there because ifsomething is wrong and you already left they will do nothing about it. Read more
The Real Deal has good food. I ordered the large curry chicken and was pleased with the taste and portion. The cabbage was... cooked just like I like it. My only small issue is that the Real Deal often runs out of the food I want (based on myexperiences) and they no longer accept Restaurant.com offers. Read more
Great food but poorly run business. The sign says that they open at 2pm daily, but the door is still locked at 2:05pm with no... one in sight. Too often they don't have staple Jamaican dishes, like curried goat. On a Saturday "none today". They seem to behappy to tell you what they don't have. The customer facing staff is either uninformed or unprofessional. Before, customers wereable to call ahead and order food. Not anymore. Apparently because some customers did not show up to pick up ordered food, therestaurant management's response is to cancel that service, instead of simply asking the customers to pay by phone or online. Asuccessful restaurant is not only about being able to prepare good tasting food, but also to consistently provide good serviceto its customers. Read more
