The food was burnt. Scorched. The burnt taste was throughout the entire dish. Not edible When you walk in,it looks like someone... is moving into an apartment. Nobody speaks or ask if you need help. I wish I'd looked at the reviews before ordering. It wouldhave been helpful. Sir, please don't argue with me in your response. This is MY review on what I received Read more

I ordered the egusi soup with fufu, and it was good. However, I also ordered and PAID for the hibiscus tea only to find out it... wasn't ready when I got there. I had to pick a different drink, which wasn't the same price. I wasn't reimbursed for thedifference. They should've adjusted my order. Read more
Today I ordered off DoorDash at 4:30 to pick up at 5:30 just to get to the store @6 and have to wait 30 minutes ( no... communication as to why I have to wait) for a whole not chopped rubber turkey wing under cooked/under seasoned efo. I had toput my food in the oven to fully cook the turkey .My plantains are burnt & tastes of soap. The staff looked to all beteenagers. Highly disappointed in the restaurant because my food has never been awful until today. Money I don?t have wasted Read more
First, let me say that I do enjoy African foods, from the west coast nations mostly. I have experienced 4 different African... restaurants in the Baltimore area and am the least satisfied with Platinum Amala Spot. I paid $14.99 for the Goat Meat Stew andgot 4 pieces of meat and by mass, half of those 4 pieces were nothing but un-eatable fat. Either someone is incompetent inbuying meat or someone is just pure greedy. I get a full bowl of curry goat meat for just $10.99 at our local Jamaicanrestaurant. This poor level of service is what keeps African restaurants from gaining any type of success. I fully expect thisone to fail within a year or 2. And this will be met with sad applause. Another thing. You should stop asking if "you want ittogether" as in America it implies that you're asking if I'm paying for both dishes when ordering 2 or more, not that I want toput all the orders on one plate. We by default expect each order to be contained in a separate container. I have found that inWashington D.C any visited African restaurant provides better services and goods than Amala. If you all cannot up your game, then 1-2 years is all I give you. Read more

I got pounded yam with egusi and chicken stew, and ayamese stew. It was amazing. My first time tasting west African cuisine and... I'm hooked. It was spiced perfectly (although I did add a little salt). And the fried plantains were perfect. I'm excited to tryagain. Read more
