The food here is outstanding!! I’ve been here twice in the same week and both times were absolutely fabulous. The service was... great and I really have no complaints. I got the catfish platter with macaroni and cheese and string beans as well as thepineapple upside down cake (huge!). The portions are great and the catfish was cooked so delicately. The Mac and cheese wastruly spectacular (and I’m a picky eater too). The first time I came I got a crab cake with French fries. Just SO good!!It’s a cozy space with live events every week. LOVE that it’s black owned, and in a convenient location for those who takepublic transit or are visiting the city. I can’t recommend them enough!! Please visit. They do have an accessible entrance butparking is limited besides other parking garages or street parking nearby. Prices are not cheap but worth it! Read more
Edit: the owner reached out and apologized. It was appreciated. Thank you. The food was good and mom said she'd return, (as... long as she doesn't have to do any "tech stuff"). A little effort is often all it takes. The cashier embarrassed my parentswho were trying Groupon voucher I printed out for them. They don't have the app. The don't get the tech stuff and they refusedprinted copy even though it says in redemption instructions they can. No amount of good food can replace rudeness anddishonesty. My parents paid cash and I got my money back-- the other 5 places took the paper copies for their anniversary trip. This is the only one that was rude and refused. Happened about 1 pm Sept 9, 2022. I called and sent a message that was readbut not responded to through Google. I've added pictures so you can see it doesn't expire until Jan 2022. Next Phaze Cafe exceeded all my expectations. I cannot remember the last time I was at a restaurant where they took such pride... in their food that the taste, quality, and presentation of the food was absolutely perfect. My party ordered the CatfishPlatter, the Caesar Salad with Chicken, the Shrimp Appetizer with French Fries, and some Sweet Potato Pie. All the ingredientswere extremely fresh, and the Next Phaze Cafe certainly knows how to work a fryer. The fried items were crispy without beinggreasy, seasoned very well, and cooked to perfect doneness. The catfish literally melted in my mouth once I crunched through thecrispy coating. The collard greens were some of the bests I have ever had. They were extremely tasty and tender without beingdrowned in liquid. And the macaroni and cheese was to die for. Definitely one of the best macaroni and cheese I have ever had.The creaminess with a variance in textures was lighting up my taste buds. Top it off with some of the moistest cornbread I haveever devoured. The serving portions were perfectly sized, and the high quality of the food definitely deserved the price paid.Of course, there was no way I was going to pass up the sweet potato pie as I am a pie guy, and sweet potato ranks in my topthree best type of pies. Three decades ago, I had experienced the best sweet potato pie I have ever had in a soul food placelocated in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For three decades, I have searched for a sweet potato pie to match or exceed that one, but Ihad all about given up hope. Well, my patience and resolution were rewarded with the Next Phaze Cafe's Sweet Potato Pie. I don'tknow if I was experiencing the perfection of heaven or the temptation of the devil, but either way their sweet potato pie wasecstasy dancing across my tongue. Real Greens, Mac & Cheese very tasty, corn bread made from scratch Garlic Parmesan Chicken wings was very tasty. However food... plate was too small for cost. Reason being I got those pieces of wings but two pieces of wings is one wing so five pieces isonly two whole wings and a piece. I payed $38.00 for those two plates with a ginger ale. This place is across the street fromcourt house. You will have to pay for parking in parking garage/ they have not started dine in so we carried out. Lady takingorder was great. This was my first time ordering from here. The food was really good. The chicken wingettes was thoroughly cooked and had a nice... little crunch to them, slightly over seasoned, but still good. I enjoyed the collard greens and seasoning was on point as wellas the rice pilaf. Will be ordering again and definitely recommend this restaurant. Read more
All was awesome down to the customers ???????? French Fries were out of this world! Thick, hard and crispy on the outside and... the middle tasted like mash potatoes ???????????????? Food was great and came out relatively fast. Server was excellent and made sure we were taken care of. Bartender was helpful... with drink selection and provided strong drinks. Overall great experience for my first time in Baltimore. Read more
I can’t bring myself to rate this place low. The food is outstanding. This is the only time I had a small issue with my order.... My chicken tenders weren’t really tenders.
