Nice small place. Met with one of the owners and he is very nice, pleasant and accomodating. They carry halal chicken so that is... why i had to try it out. We ordered the chicken sandwich - spicy. The chicken was nice and crispy and the steam bun was a niceaddition. The sandwich is basic but very tasty. The sweet and tangy sauce is also very nice. Nice place and would definatelt beback again. The neighborhood bird is the best chicken sandwich I?ve ever eaten in my life. No exaggeration, I travelled 3 hours by train and... another hour by car to eat this sandwich again. I got the spicy version with the spicy sambal mayo on the side. It?s sobeautifully spiced and getting to dollop my own sauce on each bite makes it extra delicious. Also the idea of putting mint on asavory sandwich is new to me, but dang it was soo good. I took it to a food hall to eat and somebody wanted to know where I gotthe amazing looking bao bun sandwich. She was sad that she couldn?t get it at the food hall, but not surprised that it was fromEkiben. I also got the tempura broccoli. It was very good with the rice vinegar. If Ekiben opens a location in NYC, I?ll betheir first customer! Read more

We both ordered the Neighborhood Bird on a busy Friday night. The staff had our order ready in less than 20 minutes. We were... able to eat our food at the counter inside the Hampden location. The loud Spanish club music was obnoxious. Despite thesuper-busy night, two of the staff still found time to ask if we liked our meal. The chicken was served hot. The pickles, onions, and carrot mix were all served cold. The Neighborhood Bird was a spicy palate-pleasing fiesta of flavor! Read more

visited the Ekiben in Hampden. I ordered the vegetarian tofu bun and broccoli. Soooo delicious. I really can?t describe the... taste other than filling, crispy, yummy, and fresh lol. You have to try it for yourself. This location does not have seating (carryout only) and is located in the alley behind 36th. I doubled parked in the alley to pick up my order but there is also afree parking lot directly across from the entrance. The employees were jamming to music when I arrived and offered greatcustomer service and smiles behind their mask. I highly recommend this place plus it?s partially Black Owned. Read more
