Great tasting coffee, great book selection, the egg sandwich was fresh and on nice ciabatta bread. Love that they offer ?to... stay? mugs. $1 refills on hot coffee is a nice perk too. Everything bagel was good, toasted well! There were fennel seeds onthe bagel which definitely threw us for a loop. Don?t let that prevent you from ordering. Read more

What's with the staff here? Most of them are so unfriendly. Even when you go out of your way to say hi, they respond with "what... are you getting?" You can get me a person who knows how to greet me. They also make the lattes in a rush, over steam the milkand most times I'm walking away with a cappuccino instead of a latte. Latte art? Don't even think about it. Very lazy andunfriendly group. I even overheard a member of staff, the guy that always wears a baseball cap, ask a customer to move from atable so that larger groups can sit there. First, there were no larger groups waiting. There were other seats including outdoorseats available. Second, that man was waiting on a friend. The staff member should have double checked before making such a ruderequest. Third, there were 3 tables, each table with only one customer, but staff only asked that guy to move. Very strange. There are however two young ladies that are always friendly! One has very curly hair, half dyed blonde the rest black. The othergirl is tall and usually has her hair in plaits and I think I've seen her in overalls. They are always sweet and courteous whenI come in. This place has potential, but most members of staff need additional training. Read more

Wonderful bookstore & cafe. We visited during our brief stay in Baltimore and enjoyed the stop. The bookstore is a little small,... but the books are well organized and nicely displayed. There are some tables for indoor dining as well as some tables and otherchairs outside. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area with our books and beverages while we were there. Staff was great. Bird in Hand my go-to cafe and bookstore. Adjacent to the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, they've got a great... breakfast and lunch menu (pastries, sandwiches, salads, tamales) and excellent coffee selections. It's also a comfortablespace, and while it gets busy during the school year, it's generally pretty easy to grab a table and/or a spot on the wide frontpatio. The only trouble is, I nearly always end up buying a book with my Greenhouse sandwich (which, if you're a vegetarian, Ihighly recommend). Read more

The food was kinda expensive but that's to be expected for a place like this. The atmosphere was great, the staff very friendly... and accommodating, and the general feel of the place is very comfortable and welcoming. Read more

LOVE this place! I'm in town for the week and today was my third day in a row stopping by for coffee and a baked good. Also... purchased graphic novels and coffee beans to take home. The coffee and food are delicious, the atmosphere is relaxing, and thepeople working there are friendly and helpful. Looking forward to coming by every morning until I leave! Read more

A cool cafe right by JHU, and has a significant amount of books available for purchase. No indoor seating as of now, but I... assume that it?s due to COVID restrictions. Read more
