Alma Cocina is a 100 out of 10. The space is filled with light, plants and beautiful murals. It sets the scene for the... wonderful food experience that is about to happen. We sat at the bar where you can still order the full menu. I have dined inthe restaurant too and the service is amazing everywhere. I'm going to list everything we ate. All of it was beautiful andamazing. I will make additional comments on some things that I'm still dreaming about. We started with Esquites from the HappyHour (M-T, 5-7 at the bar) menu. For drinks, we started with the Orincoc and a daiquiri from the Happy Hour menu. Next, we hadYucas Bravas which may ruin me for any other potato for the rest of my life. The Latin Gyoza were perfectly crispy and had asauce that was hard not to drink. Next was Red Snapper Ceviche that is as amazing as it sounds. Wild Mushroom Luxury is a dishthat someone who hates mushrooms would eat. But the star was the Burrata Salad. The dish was a true work of art and there wereso many flavors we often had to look at the menu to identify what we were eating. We came for the Duck Magret and were notdisappointed. The duck is perfectly cooked and seasoned and served on some creams and purees that made you want to lick theplate clean. Even the roasted baby carrots on the plate were amazing. During this feast, we had additional drinks - a TamarindMargarita and the Viejo Pirata (similar to an Old Fashioned). The night finished with 100o Threads for dessert (that sorbet ??)and our bartender, Cristian's, take on an espresso martini. Alma Cocina was an amazing experience from start to finish. I can'twait to go back. Read more

So we tried this place because of someone else’s review and I must say even tho the food was ok to me the experience was still... great and my husband loved his food. The restaurant aesthetic was great, I mean total vibe. The good presentation was very goodjust some of the flavors for me wasn’t quite what I hoped however I did like the restaurant. Last thing wouldn’t recommendbringing kids even tho we called the restaurant first to make sure and they said yes there was no kids menu or kid friendlyitems. Read more

Pretty good food. Overall the flavors are there however I think the prices are a little over the top. If it averaged $3-6... dollars less an entree I would come back but for me it’s a one time experience. Very cute ambiance and the service was great.Just can’t justify the cost to come back atm Ended up spending $180 after tip for 2 apps, 2 entrees (granted I got the paella($48) for the gf for bday) a churro, one cocktail, and a coffee. It was a good experience just know what to expect ????????cute date night place if you’re looking to impress however the layout is very open so it’s not that quite of anenvironment There’s free parking close by on N Calvert street if you can walk a couple blocks. Just keep street smarts inmind Read more

Cute and well decorated location! The decorations inside made you feel like you were eating on an outdoor patio with all the... trees/plants and brightness. The drinks were extremely well crafted and thoughtful. I loved their selection of rums and the waythey mixed them in the cocktails - brought a lot of flavor to the drinks and complexity. I thought the oysters were just okay. The red snapper ceviche and yuccas bravas were extremely well seasoned and flavorful. The esquites were just okay - kind ofbland in my opinion. I think the tostones were the best thing we ordered. Finally, the churros were really well made andfresh. My only gripe with this place and the reason it wasn't a 5 Star is because the pricing is exorbitant for the size of theplates. I think this place is great and delicious but the prices definitely don't match the amount of food you're getting. Read more

Words can't express how amazing this dining experience was. It's more than just a place to eat. The ambiance makes you feel like... you are on an island and then they bring out the food. Oh baby! We had the tostones and ceviche to start. The mango slaw on thetostones is so good I almost ordered another. For our entrees we had the duck magnet and the octopus. The presentation wasawesome but the flavor was PHENOMENAL. We ended with the Tres Leche and the Churros. When you go get both and don't share. Lol!The rum flight was also amazing. The staff and service are top notch! I will be going back again because there I want to try theentire menu. Read more
