Everything comes to an end. Shame. We have supported Mrs. H's since she opened and as of late the fish has become VERY THIN (had... to look to see if there was fish) with very thick and greasy batter. 2 of the three pieces were thin (or missing) and the otherwas ok. We ordered the regular halibut meal as we always share. Mid-August 2022. Dined in. We have noticed it changing over thepast few months but on September 3rd our friends were coming to our cottage and stated they wanted to pick up Mrs. H's on thereway through and we warned them that it is not like it use to be but they insisted. They will never return as well. Terrible.(Not one person out of the 5 of us finished our meal - we threw it out) As a local I will give some advise from one businessowner to another. Charge more but keep the quality. Quality is how you grew your business and poor quality is how you will killit. Do not shrink the fish and double the batter to make up for higher costs. I go here at least 10 times a year, and that's more than any other fish and chips store anywhere around me. It's worth the drive... to Mrs. H's ,normally she would get a 5 out of 5, but they changed their French fries to the skinny Stix that look likeMcDonald's fries, there were so many over cooked fries that I threw about a 3rd of them away. Ok so that's all of mycomplaints, the Fish is the best you can get anywhere, big chunks of delicious battered fish, with fresh squoze lemon and Tartarsauce, wash it all down with a coke, then just enjoy what happy feels like. Been wanting to try this place for a long time since the reviews have been positive but I must say that I was pretty... disappointed. The food was just ok. We ordered the cheeseburger, onion rings and half order of fish and chips. Everything wasfresh but lacked in flavour. The cheeseburger was juicy but a little bland, the bun was the best part. Onion rings were greatand probably the best thing we ordered, a little on the greasy side but fluffy and delicious. The halibut was disappointing.Although the portion was generous and the fish itself was nice and fresh, the batter was very greasy and really didn't tastelike much. The photos online make it look so great but it was just ok. Slaw was fresh and tasty. The fries were our leastfavourite part of the meal, not crispy and just bland. I would say this was a typical fish and chip order that you would get ata pub or restaurant. Not your traditional English style fish and chip shop if that's what you're expecting.
