This place is great! I love the theme and decor. The staff is extremely friendly and our waitress recommended a great dish for... my wife, which she really liked. The food was way better than I expected it to be. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and they werevery delicious. Although one of the 3 had very little to no meat, I told the waitress and she was able to have another one madevery quickly. My kids also really liked their plates. One got the bean and cheese burrito and the other got the chicken fingers. We went with my parents and they both really enjoyed their plates as well. I really enjoyed this place overall and willdefinitely be coming back. Read more

My first visit here and it's really nice inside and out. I like the artwork inside and the painted wings outside. The food I... ordered was good but the pollo en mole poblano tasted different than traditional Mexican mole. I appreciate that the meals areslightly different than traditional style Mexican food but coming here I wasn't aware of it. So I had mixed feelings about theflavor. The rest of my group wasn't very pleased with their dinner choices which I was disappointed to hear. My agua frescas wasgood, Jamaica, not very sweet though. I'd still give it another try. Read more

The ambiance was very nice but in my opinion the prices are too expensive for the food. I order a flight of tacos 3 for $14 but... they were street tacos. I think that should be explained on the menu also I waited 30 minutes for my drinks to come to thetable. The food took way to long to come out. Our drinks were already gone so was the chips & salsa by the time I was able toplace the order for the food. The food is good but I won't be returning due to the long wait I experienced. The waiter took solong to check on our table. It seems as tho he was more concerned about the tables that had a big party then our small 2 tableparty Read more

(An honest review from someone of Mexican Descent) I feel almost sorry to write this one but it's well deserved after what me... and my family experienced. This place has been on my Foodie List for quite some time after seeing how popular the location inTempe was. I was excited to learn a location on the West side of Phoenix was finally open so it was more accessible but it wasjust a huge disaster. I'll start with the pros. Pros: Interior design is modern, pleasing to the eye and colorful. Latinthemed with art and sugar skulls to make it more "obvious". The location was clean and seemed to be well organized. Cons: thefood and drinks were absolutely horrific. Being of Hispanic and Mexican background myself along with my family who joined me..wewere so so upset. The course went as such: Chips and Salsa - Chips were glistening with grease and the salsa had zero flavor. It was neither spicy or salty or anything...it kinda just tasted watered down. Queso Fundido - or also known as "CheeseFondue". The menu mentions a lot of Oaxacan inspired dishes including Oaxaca Queso for the fundido. If you know anything aboutthat you'll know that Oaxacan cheese is extremely stringy when melted and you should actually even be cautious when eating itbecause you could choke but never complain because once it cools it becomes a delicious solid chewy cheese perfect to enjoy withtacos and other dishes. BUT this was not the case. The cheese was soupy when hot and when cooled it curdled. It looked like youwere scooping ice cream almost. Quesa-birria tacos: the taco is listed on the "special taco" area on the menu. Insinuating itmust be better then the other tacos right? since it's also priced higher as well. What you'll end up getting is a small corntortilla the size of a child's palm with melted cheese and a two-finger pinch of actual Birria (meat) with raw onion and oneleaf of cilantro. FOR FIVE DOLLARS. Chorizo Tacos: what were those? Soy? Because they weren't flavorful Read more

The takeout process with the window was convenient, but I was disappointed in the food quality here. I?ve eaten at Other Barrio... Queen locations and I don?t remember it being this bad. Shrimp and fish tacos were bland and very soggy. Not that much flavor. The enchiladas were the most disappointing. The tortillas are very thick and there is barely anything inside them! A littlespinach and cheese. Not that much sauce either so they were very dry. What a bummer, I was hoping this would be a regular placefor us! Read more

We decided to try Barrio Queen for lunch, this was our first visit. It was not a disappointment either, the food and service was... great! Our server was outstanding and very attentive. We started our lunch with an appetizer, we ordered the Barrio Guacamolethis was made fresh at our table. I ordered the Enchiladas Poblanas and my husband ordered the Enchiladas De Mole. And I can'tleave out the most important part of the lunch experience, the chips and salsa. Oh my goodness, the chips were hot, crispy andthe thickness of the chip amazing! I've been to many Mexican restaurants and these chips are by far the best I've ever ate! Weare definitely going back to try other items on their menu. If you have not tried Barrio Queen, go check them out. Read more
