Located in the old wood and fire location 3... min from I90 They feature freshly prepared delicious authentic dishes with generous portions. Not a huge fan of this place but I only been here twice and only on taco night. The flavor was kind of bland and my tacos came... out wrong. I really like cozumels so I don't know if it's me comparing places and flavors. Avon doesn't really have greatchoices for Mexican food. I gave it three stars because it wasn't terrible but I have had better. Salsa tasted like tomato juiceand chips tasted a bit stale. Queso and queso fundido was yummy. I have had there guacamole and it was just tomatoes and onionsbarely any avocado. Tacos are pretty good I like the carnitas. They seemed kind of dry this time. I definitely can try themagain and see if I have a better experience but I really didn't enjoy myself like I would of like too. The chips were warm and crispy, the salsa has a bit of a bite to it. Today I got the Steak Fajita Salad. Which I then dumped... onto the plate, for better access to the cheesy goodness on the bottom. Updated review: Overall the food is still pretty good. The restaurant had plenty of customers since our last visit during... lunch. I didn't change my rating due to the service. We started out with one waiter, but ended up with a few different ones. Healso forgot our appetizer. Just not enough help. Took forever to get anyone back because they were so understaffed. Enjoyed our lunch here. This location offers specials every day of the week, even Saturday and Sunday which I was pleasantly... surprised to discover. I have no complaints about the service, however I would have liked our server to be more friendly andoutgoing. We were excited to go the other night and we were very disappointed sadly. Our "shredded beef" items were anything but that. We... literally had huge lumps of meat inside out tortillas that were very hard to bite into. The "shredded chicken" was the same way.My husband ordered grilled pineapple in his burritos and they did not put it in there. The manager came by and said he couldmake a new order for him. My husband kept trying to tell him "no that was OK, he didn't want to get anything else and we wouldjust take the check " but the manager continued to insist that my husband needed a fresh order and he would make sure that therewas pineapple in it this time. Finally my husband said OK because we just wanted to get out of there. We all thought everythingkind of tasted the same. A bit blazay. It was very disappointing. Unlike other Mexican restaurants in the nearby area. I maygive it a second chance and try again and hopefully be able to give a better review at that time, just not sure.
