Really a delightful surprise for dinner tonight. We stopped at @corkandbarrelavon Cork and Barrel Wine Bar in Avon. The food... and drinks were fantastic. We had great service from Vaughn ( forgive any misspellings) and after we got done eating we foundout that Vaughn was the new owner of one of our new favorite spots. Revamped menu with some great selections. We had theTWIN FILLETS - Two 4oz Beef Medallions with Red Wine Demi Glaze. Served with Classic Risotto and Green beans. The risotto was sofluffy and light. My wife who is not usually a risotto person went back in for more. The steak had a great char taste. Wealso had SHRIMP DIP SKILLET Shrimp, Mozzarella, Cream Cheese, Garlic and Parmesan Served with Crostini and crackers. Home run. See the pictures ?. High praise. Be sure to stop in and eat local. Wonderful hidden gem in Avon!!! Thought this was just a wine bar at first but it is SO MUCH MORE!! It it a full service... restaurant with absolutely beautiful decor and amazing food!! Obviously fantastic wine selection but they also offer premiumbourbon flights and specialty cocktails. Nice outdoor patio too! Our new favorite place to wine and dine!! Read more

The first time we went we had steak and a seasonal salad. That experience was great. We went yesterday, love the ambiance of the... patio, and ordered a chicken sandwich and beef tips. Neither was anything you couldn't have whipped up at home with a beginnerspantry. We're charged for drink refills, which seems a bit odd? My husband and I went here on our 50th anniversary. Our children had thrown us a very large celebration the evening before so... this was just meant for us and we wanted a romantic evening with some good wine.
