My husband and I stopped at Ave Maria for lunch today on our way home from the Keys, and it was one of the worst restaurant... experiences I\'ve had in a while.\n\nI ordered the Salmon Power Bowl and was excited to try it when I saw how beautifully it waspresented. However, when I took my first bite, I knew immediately that the fish was undercooked. I informed the server, who thentook the dish back to the kitchen...no big deal. My husband was pleased with the grilled chicken sandwich so he continued toeat.\n\nAbout five minutes later, the server returned with my bowl. In it was the SAME piece of salmon. Before trying it, Iforked open the middle of the fillet and saw that it was still grossly undercooked. I waved over the server and again sent thedish back. At this point, the server apologized profusely and asked if I would like something else from the menu. I declined andstated that I would find something elsewhere. (I almost NEVER send food back, but after being served the same undercooked foodtwice I was more than irritated by the blatant disregard for food safety.)\n\nI continued sitting at the table, without anyfood, until my husband finished his meal. We went for dinner with our baby. We are always apprehensive going out with a child but the staff was friendly and welcoming. We... started with the provoleta and empanadas which were both delicious. For entrees we had the mushroom and steak burrata ravioli,octopus and mussels. We finished with the chocolate lava cake. The meal was fantastic and we had a great time with our damil. Ialso thought the price point was good for the food value and dining experiences, we would happily go again! Read more
I realize the restaurant theme is new dishes, but when the waitress does not know the meal, it gets awkward. I had to show her... the menu. Ok. It happens. The wine list doesn’t match the menu and offers too many overpriced wines. I’m not cheap but at$12 a glass at Ave I’ll stick with water. There were quite a few flies inside which I suspect comes from having to constantlyopen/close the doors to serve those dining outdoors. I don’t like flies landing on my food at picnics let alone at arestaurant. The food was good, but not great. The service was good, not great. Could live without the Buddha juxtaposed againstthe Church. I’ll go again, but not soon. Read more

Unfortunately we had a chicken Marsala that wasn\'t cooked completely. All we could do was cancel that order by the time it was... noticed and brought to the servers attention. Not much was done. We sat by the kitchen and overheard it wasn\'t the onlychicken uncooked that evening. The owner hovered around, but never came over to say anything. Our European friends didn\'t wantto add a tip because of this. Our server felt compelled to advise no tip was included with bill. It\'s hard to tip when nothingspecial is done. Also our seating was not very comfortable sitting in the \"lounge\" area. Older people have a challenge withthis type of seating.
