Great concept! It?s definitely an unusual taco place with variety of options. The elotes and chips were amazing, definitely a... nice combination. I was really exited about the chicken and waffle taco but unfortunately they didn?t had the waffle availableso they gave me a flour tortilla instead but it was great! We had a lot of other flavors and they were all great. Definitely agood place to visit, the line might be a little long depending on the time and day, but it?s so worth it. Read more
I was looking for a casual taco place to hang out with my coworker after work on a business trip, and I am soooo glad that Yelp... found a place for me. "A funky taco spot creating international flavors" YES!! First of all, I ABSOLUTELY love theirmargaritas, lots of booze :) Tacos are big and very flavorful. I got their fan favorites #8 Korean fried rice and #17 Mexi-Calishrimp with elotes and chips. I am always a little hesitant to try "Korean" flavored options at restaurants because usually,they are not Korean but since it was one of the fan favorites, I got one. Unfortunately, it didn't surprise me :( Korean porkdid not have a Korean taste to it at all, but it was very delicious with jalapeños enos, grilled pineapple, and cilantro.HOWEVER, #17 Mexi-Cali shrimp taco was AMAZING! I will definitely visit again for this shrimp taco and to try other tacos on themenu. They also have vegan and vegetarian-friendly options. Read more
Velvet Taco serves delicious food in an energetic urban atmosphere. Their tacos combine traditional and fusion flavors. The wide... range of taste they offer makes us want to come back to try them all. The portions were generous and the price was reasonable.The place was packed with office people coming for lunch but the service was quick and smooth. Amazing tacos! Came here during the lunch rush and the staff was super friendly and efficient. Two tacos will definitely fill... you up but you?re going to have a hard time narrowing down from all the good choices!! The #12 was my favorite and the side ofelote was great, too. Read more
Yummy! Though my "partner in crime" was not in Austin with me and I could not enjoy a "marg" with my meal, I still stuck to... tradition and enjoyed Velvet Taco while here. It was not at all the typical dining experience as I had my order delivered, butthe delicious goodness that arrived was all the same! The taco of the month is Italian Pizza. Let's just say I never want toeat pizza on traditional crust ever again. Who knew? The burger taco was amazing though I could not eat it all because I hadalready stuffed myself with the Italian Pizza taco, and of course, my go-to Buffalo Chicken taco. The burger taco had a WHOLEpatty on it with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles, to boot! Let's just say I never want to eat a burger on a bun ever again. VelvetTaco is by far my favorite taco restaurant!
