You cannot come to Austin and not have tacos. Our friend who generously offered to take us to velvet taco in domain straight... from the airport. I ordered tofu and beer battered cauliflower to go. Being accustomed to the usual three taco flights, I hadinitially ordered three but two were more than enough. Coming back home, when we opened the cute to go boxes, cauliflowerdefinitely looked more appetizing than the tofu one but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. Velvet Taco does all the tacos and does them very well. The menu is full of a plethora of creative and unique taco selections. I... loved the Buffalo chicken and grilled steak tacos but wanted to try so many more. The queso is also spot on. Counter service isquick and convenient. This is truly the best taco restaurant in Austin. It?s located at the Domain, it has plenty of tables inside and outside. Tacos... are seriously delicious, every week they feature a taco of the week and they never disappoint. The staff is friendly andapproachable, specially Seth, He is a star in that location! Did I mention that they open until late? So if you are visiting thedomain shopping or hitting the clubs, this is definitely a must try. Read more
Great vibe and killer food! We waited in line for about 10-15m, but the line moved very quickly. Food was ready fast and... everything tasted great. The prices were fair, and 2-3 tacos was a good amount of food. I?d definitely recommend checking thisplace out if you?re looking for a casual quick bite at the Domain, you won?t be disappointed! I have been to both the domain & 6th/Congress locations and they both are amazing! We ordered the ?WTF? = weekly taco feature,... which was the Orange Shrimp. Honestly, I think it needs to be a permanent option on the menu because it was AMAZING! We also gotthe fish n? chips (fan favorite) and the rotisserie chicken! These tacos are solid! They usually have a lot going on but have never lacked on flavor or uniqueness, in my opinion. I?ve also... noticed that their tacos are especially watery for some reason, which isn?t necessarily a bad thing, but just a consistentobservation. Queso was good too! Definitely not authentic, but who cares. These creative tacos are amazing. One taco fills up your average kid. Two tacos are... enough for your average adult. But you have to get a side. The tacos are chicken, pork, beef or veggie. See my pics of theoptions. They have about 4 combinations per protein. The salsas are also very tasty. The tacos already come loaded with a salsabut I had to add some f he salsa on the table. They have a good selection of beers and other beverages. Space - it?s a mediumsize space. I loved this place! The vibe is super chill and relaxed. The tacos, omg the tacos are like nothing I have tried before. If you... are looking for traditional this is not it. They take staple foods and transform them into tacos, example fish and chips, friedchicken and waffles, hamburger, I mean funky, fun choices. Their margaritas are very very good too.
