While I love the fried chicken at this location and appreciate the creative twists added to new menu items, I unfortunately had... a poor experience my last time ordering take out at the Lake Austin location. Around lunchtime I ordered two 3 piece bonelessthighs for me and a friend, one with a mac and cheese side and the other with a side of collard greens. When I got home I foundout that not only was I charged for fries instead of collard greens (a $1 up charge), I didn’t even have a side for my orderand only received a mac and cheese side. I ended up returning to the restaurant to request my side back, which they offered tome as well as refunding the difference in prices in the sides. I still had to use my own gas money and time to return to therestaurant a second time, which was extremely inconvenient. These two mistakes should never have happened and I am hesitant torecommend this restaurant to friends if this is the quality of service provided to take out orders. I would love to give thislocation a second chance but I would need to have confidence that my order will be fulfilled accurately in the future. Buffalo chicken burger with blue cheese, coleslaw, and bacon. Buffalo is a little too salty but the coleslaw and blue cheese are... the perfect complement. Great burger and service. 4 stars because one worker walked out of the bathroom like 5seconds afterhearing the toilet flush. :(. Read more
Visiting my UT student from Dallas and she said that she and her friends go here at least once a week. I can see why! Their... chicken is hands down the best I have ever had. That says a lot coming from someone who used to work for KFC international andhas had hot chicken from all over the world. Beans were great. Dirty fries were delicious! Yesterday I experienced a near-perfect chicken sandwich that I’m still thinking about this morning. But what really impressed... me is how nice everyone was. Austin was under a boil-water notice, so I’m sure it was more annoying than usual to work at arestaurant, but we only experienced friendliness from the staff. Our server Erin gave us great recommendations, handled all ofour requests quickly (which matters when you’re on the upper end of your weight class for spicy things and need water!), anddidn’t rush us at all when I took a minute to recover from the Big Larry cocktail before driving home. I am not a super spicyeater. My happy place is regulation standard buffalo wing sauce. I got “mo’ hot” and it was about right with an extra sideof their tasty ranch. My spicier friend got “dang hot” and just about managed with the help of two Big Larrys. We also gotdirty fries, dirty mac, and pickle chips – all were great. Read more
My son was craving fried chicken. He said a bucket of KFC would do but we knew we could do better than that. We went out for... lunch on a Sunday. We were seated right away which was great because there was a line later while we were eating. It was ourfirst time there so we weren't too sure what to order but decided on a 6 piece tenders and an 8 piece meal. The presentationwas great. Loved how they stack the pieces up and didn't just throw them on a platter or in a bucket. The bread underneath wasgreat to soak up the juices (or the oils). My husband found a piece without too much oil an it and made a sandwich with achicken tender. We ordered the HOT which is really the first one with any heat at all. The only thing less spicy would be thelowest spiciness which is just salt/pepper. My husband doesn't eat too much spicy stuff and it was spicy for him - still ableto eat it but he was feeling the heat. :) We also ordered fries and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was great. OK food and great service. My first time there. Food was good. I ordered HOT on the spice chart and it was almost too much... for me unfortunately. I can usually take the spice. This is the 3rd from the mildest. Dirty fries were good but part of theplate had cold food not warmed. Beans solid potato salad just ok. Good server. Read more
This is a must for you fried chicken lovers. The food at Tumble22 is well-executed southern cuisine. The chicken is cooked so... perfectly and seasoned so well. I'm a huge fan of spicy food and Tumble22 does not disappoint with its heat levels. I always hostupid hot and love it. Read more
