Everything was wonderful! The staff were extremely welcoming & helpful, the chicken sandwich full of flavor, and the side salad... surprisingly refreshing. Will definitely return the next time I\'m in Austin. Read more

This nice little dinner set-up was okay. Only drawback was the chicken sandwich tasted like fish. Service was good but a bit... confusing if your not a regular when ordering here. Read more

Stopped in here for breakfast after staying in the Thompson. Cute establishment that consists of a diner and a small mart with... sandwiches, snacks, wine and toiletries. I got the coconut oats and they were so so tasty and super filling. Definitely on theexpensive side for what you get. Read more

Best diner I\'ve ever been to and one of the best Globalist free breakfast options I\'ve had anywhere in the world. The food is... so good, nothing we had in a week was bad. The biscuit sandwich and farro salad were big favorites.\n\nLooking forward to goingback next week! Read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. When first reading the menu it seems that the food will be basic diner food but geeshhh does it pack... a punch. The chefs Angel and Milser can throw DOWN. The flavors are bomb. I recommend the fried fish and grits, country bacon, and the braised greens! The portions are large enough to have some to take home to go. Definitely one of my favorite breakfastspots in town. Julie has been my server each time I?ve visited and she will never steer you wrong! Read more

A Star is Born\n\nI had a long day at the ATX TV Festival and needed something to eat for dinner. It was 6:00 PM and was... already next to the new Thompson and Tommie hotels which share the same building. I entered the Thompson lobby and walkedthrough the other restaurant there, Diner Bar, to enter the Grey Market. This place is looked really cool resembling a smallmarket and eatery. I decided to give this place a try and sat at the counter ordering first a local craft beer.\n\nThe menu hada lot of different items to choose from and selected the NYC. The menu said it was bacon, egg, cheese on a kaiser roll but hadno expectation of what I was about to get. The staff was very friendly and talkative. I was gazed at the decor and products ondisplay.\n\nSoon a plate was placed in front of me and wow what a shining moment. The NYC looked so pretty I had to take a lotof photos of it. Snap, snap, snap. The bun was powdery white with thick shooting bacon from four sides and melted cheese on eggoozing but stayed in put. I took one bite and wow it was fantastic, and was the best egg sandwich I ever had. I was stillcurious why it was called the NYC but didn?t care because it tasted so delicious. I was even texting people about it. Thishotline item filled me up nicely even though weird having brunch this late in the day.\n\nIf this menu choice is this good thenI can?t imagine the rest of the selections, and the guy serving me said I should return on Sunday where Fried Chicken is thebomb. Sounds like a return is needed. Read more

Daily afternoon happy hour, $5 beers and wine. Stylish interior, a bit of retro-50?s diner mixed with a bit of Austin-vibe.... Combination gift shop/quick-serve food with setting at the counter for those who want full-service. Food was ?fine,? but notparticularly memorable one way or another; chefs appeared to be ?learning? a bit, to which I totally support, but it did affectthe final product. It?s perhaps a good place to snack or ?pregame? prior to a night out, but it was not my favorite restaurantin Austin. Read more

The Grey Market Austin is a great new addition to the food scene in Austin! Executive Chef and James Beard Award winner, Mashama... Bailey, brings her great cuisines from her restaurant The Grey in Savannah to Austin. The Grey Market is has more of a casualdiner feel and grab-n-go grocery than the sister restaurant The Diner Bar next door. I will be back here as I arrived closer toclosing time. Congrats Chef Bailey on the 2022 James Beard award!!\n\nI?m going to brag a bit on Chef Bailey before I get backto The Grey Market. Mashama Bailey and her business partner Johno Morisano opened The Grey in 2014 in what was an old segregatedGreyhound station. The restaurant has been extremely successful and the two owners wrote a book: Black, White, and The Grey. Itis a phenomenal read about the journey of Mashama Bailey, a black chef finding her way as she explores her roots. She is alsofeatured on the lastest episode of Chef\'s Table on Netflix.\n\nI?m looking forward to trying the Sunday Fried Chicken as wellas the Fried Oyster Loaf (not my favorite name but it is an oyster po-boy). Also, you can?t leave without getting a Thrill fromthe freezer on your way out. Read more
