Waitress super nice, very disappointed with baked Ricotta sample portion (not a plate size) for $15 a couple of cherry tomatoes... and half a slice of eggplant. My Margarita pizza was ok, but the edges were little burnt and that took away the joy. If you’reexpecting Italian restaurant/cuisine look harder. Read more
This is an absolute must Italian small restaurant if you are visiting Austin. The vibe is fantastic and the wood fired pizza... oven is center stage. We had the garden board and the mushroom pizza. I've lived and study in Italy and I can say without adoubt this was authentic cuisine that if I were to have shut my eyes I could have been in any small trattoria in Italy. Read more
The Backspace is a great pizza/Italian restaurant right off 6th tucked behind their sister restaurant Parkside. It’s a smaller... restaurant so I’d recommend getting reservations early or see if you can snag some seats at the bar. The ricotta appetizer wasdelicious as was the wine and the pepperoni pizza. So much flavor packed in to their pizza and great dough. I’d recommendgetting a few pies to share for the table. Thanks The Backspace for a great evening. Read more

I've never eaten at a little Italian restaurant in Italy but this is what I'd envision. Read more
