I've visited so many times both before and after pandemic opening/closing and this place is 100 every single time. I also get it... to go and it travels well on a 20 min car ride. highly recommend visiting them (they get super busy on weekends so be preparedfor long waits bc it's a small but mighty team!) Music from Saddle Up was horrible and loud. Felt like I couldn?t order/ask about items I?ve seen online that were not written on... the chalk menu. Very underwhelmed by the choices. Chicken tinga needed onions and peppers or drizzle of queso. Disappointedafter looking forward to this place on our vacation itinerary for months. Brother got the burrito and I was also not impressedby the brisket. I did steal a little of his queso for my taco. Edit: Visited at 4pm on Sunday, May 15. Read more
Taco Bronco = ???????? The tacos are LOADED with meat/veggies so I would recommend two tacos as they?re heavy. The flavors are... so good and pair so perfectly with lime and the salsa provided. I highly recommend the carnitas taco that comes with pecans -such a unique combo and so so tasty. Read more
I?ve long been a loyalist of Micklethwait?s craft meats to satiate my barbecue appetite. So when my schedule, at last, allowed... me to dine-in at Taco Bronco, needless to say I was delighted to have the delighted to go! First off, the food truck isestablished in a reclaimed stock trailer which I feel nicely captures the Tex-mex sentiment and fits Micklethwait?s overallAustin-setting vibes. The nearby pits were smoking tomorrow?s lunch so the entire place had an amazing aroma. The menu is aconcise offering of well curated tacos and the quesadilla caught our eye as well. In a future visit, the brisket-topped nachoswill be my number one selection as I felt some fomo deciding against the dish for this first visit. We ordered two types ofbrisket tacos and the quesadilla. The portion sizes were generous so do plan to arrive hungry or with the understanding you mayvery well have some breakfast leftovers! We grabbed a beer at Saddle Up next door and sat down to enjoy our meal. 5/5 - We werenot disappointed and will be back with. No disappointments! Thanks Chris for the excellent service and enjoyable conversation! Read more
Review: Hot new place that opened up behind Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches. Highly recommended it's a must try, that being said... these are not your traditional Mexican Tacos these are a BBQ meets Tex/Mex mashup. I got the Tres Hombres Platter (DescriptionBelow) and was blown away by the price value and the flavor profile. The Javelina Taco was delicious the pork was juicy, flavorful, that toasted cheese took it to the next level and the pickled onions gave it a nice freshness and acidity. The BirriaTaco was unique not your typical smoked lamb or consomme however their twist was still delicious, juicy and paired with theirbronco sauce just elevated it. Finally my personal favorite the El Jefe Taco was pure nothing but perfect. Their brisket was onpoint, the potato hash was the perfect pairing and finished off with queso can't get better than that. The chips and queso weregood, their rice was great and their beans were decent. Rating: 9/10 The Tres Hombres Platter: Three tacos of your choiceserved with rice, beans, chips and queso The Javelina: Crispy smoked pork carnitas, mesquite roasted pecans, Bronco Sauce, toasted cheese, cilantro and pickled onion El Jefe: Sliced brisket, cactus and potato hash topped with queso Birria Taco:Smoked Lamb with Consomme Read more
