Went to try this Japanese restaurant on a Friday night while visiting Austin. Came at about 830pm and the place was packed. ... The service was quick and efficient. The quality of the food was fresh and delicious! We ordered miso soup, wakamesu (cucumbersalad), agedashi tofu, chicken karaage, screaming O, hamachi sashimi, chu toro, tuna, ikura, hamachi sushi. The only negative ofthe food items I ordered was the batter on the chicken karaage. I felt that there was more batter than chicken. (unfortunatelyI do not have that picture). I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for great food and service! Read more

We usually come to Austin once a year and visit our favorite (same) spots, but this time around we decided to try new places the... entire trip. Some were fails, but this one was a gem. We got to experience both rustic Sushi Junai upstairs as well as the quietdining downstairs. The vibe of both floors were pleasant; I'd say if you want to grab a drink with friends or on a date, upstairs would be a good place to start. They have some food menus and wide variety drinks ???????? Downstairs Sushi Juani isthe main restaurant of which we give it a 5 star. They call you when your table is ready, it is located above Elephant room(jazz club) so you get to hear some jazz when you are powdering your nose in the restroom. The staff are polite and friendly, the food is amazing in portion as well as the quality in taste, presentation, and wait time per order. Read more

Visited this spot for lunch today because it wasn?t busy and I was on a time constraint. Walked in and was asked to sit to wait... because it was only one waiter. The restaurant seemed pretty empty when I got in so I thought it will be quick. We were seatedafter about 15 min and ordered pretty quickly. The food came out in a very timely fashion but I was very evident that the waiterwas struggling being alone. The food was fresh and well presented and in pretty big portions. The problem was with the wifi andtheir POS system that went down so the poor waiter couldn?t check anyone out. He seemed to call his boss and inform him of theproblem but were unsure how to proceed. Overall, I think the restaurant needs more employees. Read more

Quite an experience. Highly recommend the tasting menu, the nigiri selection on that alone was worth every penny. Try and sit... at the bar if you can, a blast to watch these masters work and right around the corner is the private (well cleaned) restroom. Great sake & Japanese beer selections and the staff was not only friendly but extremely helpful. Read more
