Had an amazing lunch! The egg salad sandwich was amazing! The potato salad was the best I've ever had, and the soup was... delicious too! The pickles were great too. The atmosphere was nice, the place was very clean and bright. Easily the best lunchI've had in a very long time! Read more

We had the Bánh Mì it was delicious the pickledonions really made the dish. The Borracho beef sandwich was also really good both sandwiches were filling. The soup chickenpozole soup was good I liked the peppitas really were a nice touch, it just needed a little more salt. We also got 4 chocolatechip cookies wow delicious and large. Read more

Last Sunday, I met a friend for lunch at noon at Local Foods located in downtown Austin, Texas. He suggested Local Foods after... visiting their Houston, Texas location, and I was excited to try a new spot in downtown Austin, my home. I parked on the streetsince there is free parking all day Sunday; if you visit on other days, you can try to find meter parking or there are parkinggarages in the area. At noon, the restaurant was only about half full, and there was no wait to order. I had read otherreviews on Google Maps and seen that the chicken sandwich was highly recommended; however, the menu is extensive and includesmany healthy options including salads. For about $20, I ordered the chicken sandwich, which came with two market sides (I chosethe homemade pickles and chips with Old Bay seasoning). After ordering, we sat at our table and looked out the large windows atthe pedestrian traffic in downtown Austin. The chicken sandwich is not with a grilled or fried chicken breast but rather withsliced chicken, almost like deli meat, and comes on a pretzel bun. It was very satisfying. If you are looking for a fast, easyand healthy eating option downtown, this is a good spot. Read more

I was super excited to try out a new restaurant opening on 2nd St. and this place was under construction for a while. After lots... of anticipation local foods opened as a sandwich shop and I couldn?t wait to try it out. My meal turned out pretty good and thesides were different than I had seen at any other restaurants so that was pretty cool. They seemed to have a healthier take onsides and overall seem like their quality of food was pretty high. The sandwich I had here is pretty good, I?ve definitely hadbetter but I was satisfied with it. I can?t recall exactly what I got for sides but they?re really good and definitely improvethe over quality of the meal. What was really great about this place was the abundance of seating and how new and large thespace was. It was obviously very clean given it was brand new and definitely seem like a great place for lunch or getting somework done. The big open windows for being on the corner were a huge asset here and make this place really desirable spot to eatfor environment. I?ll probably try it out again! Read more

The soup was also very good and hearty. Everything tasted verynourishing and felt good eating things that try to be seasonal. Read more

Vegan Queso was SO good and the Chopped Green Salad was alsodelicious! Huge portions, I couldn?t even finish it all. Can?t wait to go back again! If you?re looking for something that?sboth healthy and delicious this is the spot for you. Read more

Ordered the poboy sandwich and was not disappointed. Spicy and served on nice baguette. 2 sides are included with the meal. The... kale salad was nice, but a little small. The homemade chips were the perfect size. Read more

Ordered from Local Foods here in Austin many times waiting for the restaurant to open downtown. LOVE this place!!! Tend to like... healthier stuff so duh, sandwiches and salads fit the bill but the FLAVORS and TEXTURES are amazing so it doesn?t taste or lookon the healthy side of things. There are a ton of goodies in the salads, way more than the 2-3 things I toss into my homemadesalad. Salads are huge too! So the pic is of the Asia Chicken salad?the texture of the cabbage and kale!! And those cashews aretoasted (yuuuum!!!). Highly recommend. PS don?t forget the chocolate chip cookie or gluten free brownie. OMG, must haves espafter a salad. Read more
