Reviews for Kanji Ramen in Austin, TX
I was disappointed by the meal I had but I'm not sure if it was just covid fatigue or if it is truly not good. The staff was... very friendly and the reviews had me excited but sadly I will not be going back when there is so many other good places forramen in Austin. ?Spicy Gyoza: the menu says "pan-seared" but it was deep fried, it was good tho! ?Beef Donburi: the star ofthe show! Meat was great! ?Signature Ramen: egg yolk looked dey (yes dry), noodles over cooked was clumping together andcouldn't separate, broth is basic nothing interesting reminds me of the broth at Kura Revolving Sushi, corn was over cooked likethe corn you'd get from warming up a frozen dinner. The restaurant is very cute but food is lacking, not sure why it has greatreviews make a me think it's covid fatigue or the only good ramen joint people can get in that area of Austin. Read more
Resturaunt was nice and clean. Very simple to place your order. You grab your own menu, seat yourself, and go to the counter to... place your order when you are ready. We ordered the "Signature Ramen" and it came in a pretty nice sized bowl, and the flavorwas amazing! The man who was working was very kind, and checked on us. If we lived here in Austin, we would definitely comehere all the time. We will definitely be back when we visit! Ps we walked in to 2 other "Ramen" restaurants and walked rightout before we found Kenji. Sooo glad we found this gem! Read more
My first time going to Kanji was last week and I am hooked. The Spicy Mi-so Ramen is too magnificent for words, broth was so... full of amazing flavors. The shrimp tempura, so fresh and crispy. This is my new favorite place to eat out! Read more
We decided to try a different type of noodles for lunch and picked Kanji Ramen. The place requires customers to order and pay at... the counter and then look for a table to sit (Just FYI). We ordered Chashu (Marinated braised pork belly) and Pork Gyoza(Pan-seared dumplings) as appetizers, and for the main dish, Kanji Ramen, which is their signature ramen in a creamy pork bonesoup with soy sauce based seasoning. Every dish ordered had a very unique and rich flavor. Definitely a different experience incomparison to Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese noodles, but good in its own way. Read more
This restaurant is a hidden gem. It wasn?t very busy when we came in, but the food was great. The broth isn?t overpoweringly... salty but is still super flavorful. All of the different toppings on the signature ramen went well together. Read more
