Good times at Gabby's. Fun spot for a happy hour, with plenty of options for a stiff drink. The Adult Capri-Suns will sneak up... on you. Located in Southpark meadows near the weird four way stop sign, up the stairs. Nice patio in the back, they also have anoutdoor stage area. Saturday night they had a DJ going. Saul was great, taking good care of us as we ordered delicious Mexicanfood. They only do barria on weekends and Tuesdays but it is excellent. This was a mixed bag. Some things were very good and others fell flat. I wish there was something in the middle, like 3.5. The... service was excellent and they were very sweet to our 11 month old. Nice patio area with music at a good volume. Marg flight wasfun and delicious, they use exotica tequila as their well which is something to be noted since most well liquor can be toughstuff. The Mex martini was meh and needed a proper martini glass, not a whiskey glass. Mole fell flat, like it was not finished,very soupy and thin. I think it truly might have needed more time. Queso flameado was so delicious, one of the best I've had inAustin. Birra taco w cheese was more than I was prepared for, so yummy and I will come back for those. Aguachiles was okay, goodmix of ingredients and for $22 nice portion size. It just wasn't amazing, missing something, not spicy as anticipated and neededmore time in the citrus to 'cook.' The salsa sampler does cost $5 so don't expect it grat like in most places, however all 4we're very flavorful and worth it. Amazing food, great service and the ambience was fun! I ordered the street corn as my appetizer , horchata drink and shrimp... borracho tacos with rice and beans. Gabriella's South Austin is definitely a vibe. Depending what time you go, you might have to wait. The food is good depending... what you get. Staff was very patient and attentive. Manager personally brought out the food and gave me some history about thedish. Waitress was always available and checked on the table regularly. The color decor of the restaurant is refreshing andinviting. The Shrimp Encrabronado is spicy and flavorful with a good kick I ate it by itself but if heat is not your forte Irecommend rice with it. The Flight is a sampler of their margaritas. The mangonada is really good (A little heavy on thetequila). Love it love it love it. drink it every time. Read more
