The food was fantastic. Our waiter, unfortunately, slacked on keeping our drinks filled and did not bring our check. However,... we were there for the food and it was as expected, excellent. The bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers with chicken and cheese insidewas so well done. Highly recommend that plate and the El Arroyo special was also fantastic. Read more

The signs are the main attraction to this establishment. I expected this place out in the country, surprisingly it in the city.... Rico our server was friendly and made sure we were satisfied. Almost no parking, we parked in the street. Roomy patio. Somewhatpricy for lunch. The salsa and chips were tasty. The nachos were perfect. The tortilla soup was loaded with lots of chicken. Thechicken enchilada plate was served nice and hot. Oops, no comments were heard about about the zuchinni plate, but they ate upeverything but the black beans. The guacamole salad was jalapeno spicy and meat tacos were crispy. We enjoyed reading some ofthe signs. The restaurant sells several book volumes of their previously posted signs. Anyone can submit a sign to therestaurant. "Not all chickens can be on the Arroyo menu" Read more

Really small place and the food is good for the most part. I just don?t recommend the burrito it?s very very little meat maybe 3... or 4 ounces at best and the rest is tomato with a touch of lettuce it?s size is very deceiving due to this. The beans are reallygood along with chips and queso though. The fajita tacos are good they just don?t give lime with it unfortunately. Read more

This place is very authentic. The enchiladas are great and so were the fajitas. I highly recommend eating outside on a nice... night because the atmosphere was perfect. Also, it was a very good value for a lot of food! Read more

Visited on vacation from TN because this place is famous for its sign. Loved the sign, the merch, and the vibe of outdoor... seating in beautiful March afternoon. The waitress was ok, although left just a bit to be desired. It's really hard to hearsomeone through a mask and road noise, just saying. I got the burrito and my boyfriend got the fajitas, which had an abnormallylarge amount of onions and peppers and not much meat. My burrito was good, however since my bf doesn't eat tomatoes or guac, Iadded his to mine and it made it wayyy too spicy. I'm a spice wimp and I couldn't eat much of my food. Had to take it to go toget milk from a grocery store and finish later. The beans and salsa is spicy too. If you can handle spicy, this place is foryou. If not..meh. It's also pretty pricey. Like a normal sized, aka large, marg is $11 although they are strong and delicious. Adollop of sour cream on the side is $1. Our 2 dinners and 2 margs came up to $55. I'm glad I came to see the sign and say I'vebeen here, but if I lived in Austin, I wouldn't be eating here very often. Pros: famous sign, merch, vibes, margs Cons: spicy(unless you're into that), pricey Read more

Coming here for lunch with my wife I was not sure what to expect. Because I know the place because of the funny signs that... everyone puts on the internet. I was pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and the service was excellent. Our waiter Ibelieve his name was Anthony but not sure, I forgot. It was his first day and he was awesome. The food was excellent. Next timeyou are in Austin make sure you stop by. I know I will. Read more

Took a road trip from Houston to visit this place. I have been following them on social media and absolutely love their clever... signs. Unfortunately, that?s all El Arroyo has to brag about in my opinion. I?m so sad I couldn?t give this place a 4 star orhigher review. Starting with the positive, our waiter was friendly and attentive. That?s pretty much the only good I can sayabout our experience. Food was basic, chips were basic and the restaurant needed some repairs. I understand it?s Austin and it?ssupposed to have a ?feel? of odd, different or just all around not ordinary, but clean needs to be a priority. The main indoordining room was pretty small, but there was also plenty of outdoor seating. Bathrooms were very much in need of attention. Soglad I visited the restroom after eating because I probably would have walked out if I saw that space first. El Arroyo, I wishit would have gone better. Reviews like this make me sad especially when I was so excited to visit. $41 (minus tip) for 2 anddidn?t even have an adult beverage. A little pricey for the quality and value of our experience.
