Love the ambience of this spot. Historical and relaxed. It is in the regular rotation for us for brunch. They used to have an... amazing burger (see picture from another reviewer below), but I ate here today and they seemed to have changed it. The bun isway larger than the patty, and the meat is very skimpy for the price. Bring back the double smash patty!! Read more

Brunch was excellent. I had the breakfast Sammie and my partner had the 2 egg breakfast plate. Both were perfectly cooked. Bacon... was crisp. The potatoes were nice and crispy outside and creamy inside. My partner especially liked the apple butter. Servicewas prompt. Why just 4 stars? When we asked for patio seating, we were told it was full. Even though there were very few peopleon the patio at the time, we were told it was all “reserved”. It never came close to even half full. When we left, therewere still 22 empty seats on the patio. No way to treat customers. Read more

This review is for the restaurant only. Super cute space and the food was decent. The patio is dog friendly. My biggest let down... was our waiter. He completely left something off my friend's order and didn't offer to correct it. My friend had to ask twice tomake sure she wasn't charged for it. He never refilled our drinks. We ask two other servers for refills. One forgot and thesecond finally grabbed our waiter and even then he forgot one of the drinks. Later, he tried to serve drinks to us that weremeant for the table next to us. We also noticed the table next to us was seated quite a bit after us and was served their mealbefore us. I should note they had a different waiter than us. If you read some of the reviews there are some that may commentson the attention of their wait staff. I don't know if it's attributed to a single server or if there are multiple servers havingissues. Either way, management should consider reviewing and discussing with staff. More and more people are choosing to dineout and service (and quality of food, but that isn't the case here) can make or break a restaurant. I wouldn't normally takeoff two stars, but the restaurant wasn't busy. Honestly, the guy looked extremely tired and maybe I shouldn't fault therestaurant for that. However, we asked two other wait staff for assistance and they just put it back on our waiter instead ofhelping versus wiping down empty tables that weren't even being ready for patrons since it wasn't busy. I would definitely giveit another try here with the hope that the service is a little better next time. We had the crispy oyster mushrooms, very good.Cashew queso, that was okay. It's more like an extra creamy onion dip with a queso consistency. So calling it queso is a littlemisleading, but it was still decent. I ordered the pancakes. They were delicious. Just be aware that no syrup is served with thepancakes or maybe my waiter forgot it, however, I didn't mind since I don't care for syrup that mu Read more

We're guests at the Carpenter Hotel and came here primarily because of the great atmosphere and the convenience. The menu didn't... look especially compelling to either of the two of us, but it ended up being one of the best meals we had in our 2-week Texasvacation. The Chicken Schnitzel is a bit comical in it's large portion, but my s.o. said it was perfection with an incrediblesauce. The (absent of any grain) Grain Bowl was superbly flavorful and balanced. I'd recommend it to everyone. The pecans andolive appetizers are great. I hope they keep the Blood Orange Bellini (or anything similar) on the drink menu for lessadventurous drinkers like myself. Nothing else on the cocktail menu sounded appetizing to us, but this is definitely a place forenjoying cocktails or other alcoholic beverage. Great service. Stylish but comfortable atmosphere. Great for everyone, certainlynot just hotel guests. Read more

One of the best burgers I have eaten, and I am glad we found this place. It’s a simple burger made with quality ingredients... and executed perfectly. It’s two diner style smashed patties, which are the best way to do burgers in my opinion, with ahomemade bun and a few toppings along with some great fries. The price is not the cheapest, but it’s easily worth it for thequality of the food. The outside dining is a nice relaxing space and our server was very nice. Overall a 10/10 experience allaround. Highly recommend. Read more

One of the best brunch meals I’ve had in Austin! The hash browns with the spicy golden beet ketchup were out of this world... delicious. We also had (and thoroughly enjoyed!) the labneh and feta dip, migas scramble, grain bowl, pancakes, and CarpenterBreakfast. On the drinks side - big fan of the blood orange mimosa and Ladybird latte (rosemary + orange flavors) with oat milk.Yummm! Read more

I’ve been here for both brunch and dinner, and both are good. The menu is simple, but done well. Sit on the patio on a a nice... day, but the inside is also a good vibe. Read more
