Good place to get delicious cream puffs. The cheesecake is great as well. Light and not too sweet.

These cream puffs are really big. The minis are the size of a normal cream puffs, and the "regular" size ones are like three... times that. Both minis and regular size puffs are very filled with cream and delicious (especially the Banana Foster)! Be readywith plenty of napkins. Read more

Experience with the staff was pleasant and fine... But having had these cream puffs at a location in the Bay area in California... we were expecting the dough from the cream puffs to have a slightly crisp exterior and soft airy center as was the case in thebay. My wife also makes cream puffs on occasion and hers are very soft inside.... Haven't spent $62 for my family and mybrother-in-laws on various puffs with cream filling and ice cream filling not a single one was enjoyable. The ice cream wasfine but I suspect that is just store bought which is fine. We had two ice coffees which were fine but the caramel that had athin taste to it. Given that it's not a coffee shop this was probably okay though the ice was packed tight so there was littleliquid in the cup. The flavored shells are aptly named as they are quite thick and hard as well. It is probably an acquiredtaste but I prefer the more normal variety of puffs in this case without the hard shell. Initially I thought there might justbe quality control issues for why the pastries were dry and crusty but since every single one of the puffs we ordered or thatway I'm wondering if it is a regional adaptation that other folks may like versus our experience previously in the Bay area inCalifornia. In any case we're sadly disappointed in our outing for dessert. I appreciate the owner reaching out to find outhow the experience was less than stellar. Read more

Came across this place randomly. Watching a random Facebook of list of international fast food restaurants making their way to... the US, found this place and had to try. My friend order the churro with vanilla filling and minis as seen in the fourthphoto. I ordered fruity pebbles with chocolate filling, churro with vanilla filling ,oreo with vanilla filling. As it was slowand empty i still love the looks of this place and the staff was wonderful. Read more

Delicious cream puff. I?ve had the full-sizes one before so I tried the mini ones this time. While the size is perfect for... sharing and sampling many different fillings, I generally prefer the cream-to-puff ratio of the larger ones. I would recommendthe green tea and vanilla filling as well. The current special is the purple colored filling, which I cant remember the name, but I don?t feel it is very special. I also like that they have Ito-En green tea bottle on the menu. I?ll definitely be comingback for more. Read more

I love Beard Papa! From San Francisco to Akihabara (Tokyo), I've been to Beard Papa's around the world. I am thrilled we have... one in Austin. Unfortunately, the visit was not perfect. I got a matcha (green tea) filled plain shell cream puff. It wasdelicious. The filling was nicely flavored with good creamy richness. The problem is that it was terrible consistency, a soupymess. That's not how a cream puff should be. My companion got a chocolate filled puff. Unlike my puff, it was well puttogether. My problem is that I'm just not a fan of Beard Papa chocolate. I find their heavier flavors (chocolate, coffee) arethin and diminish the richness of the cream. I tend to go for either plain (yum!) or a lighter flavor (matcha or strawberry whenthey have it). Maybe it was an off day. I will try again, but my first visit was disappointing. Read more

Can't wait to go back & try more flavors. I got the creme brulee puff, which they actually torch when you order ???????? it was... sooo good, the custard is sweet & delicious. The puff reminded me of something I've had before, I can't remember quite what itwas but there was something nostalgic & comforting about it. I can't wait to try more flavors & see what special flavors theycome out with in the future. Read more

Even though Beard Papa's is a chain, I have never been to one until I went to The Domain in Austin, TX. Do I regret it?... Definitely not. My only regret is coming in too late, right before closing, to get some delicious dessert. Why? Because they ranout of the things I wanted to try. The staff who works at Beard Papa's was very nice. Even though we came in a few minutesbefore closing, they didn't rush us nor did they seemed annoyed that we did. A+ for that -- they made us feel welcome and didn'tmind that we were new customers who didn't know how everything and anything worked. Prior to coming in, I knew what I wanted...just half of their menu. However, because they were almost closing for the day, they were out of most of their menu. Can't blamethem -- it just means that their desserts are fresh and desired. Instead of getting what I originally wanted to order, I settledfor a Green Tea Eclair with Vanilla filling. We also ordered the Strawberry Eclair with Chocolate filling and Mini Puffs6-Count. Everything tasted so delicious. It was well worth the trip even though we didn't get to order what we wanted to order.I wanted to try the Creme Brulee, the Oreo Cookie Crumble Shell, and the Strawberry and Green Tea EVERYTHING. Welp, there'salways a next time! Read more
