Baton Creole makes the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Made from thighs because they understand this is the superior... tasting piece of fried chicken. The breading is thick and crunchy but somehow light. Pimento spread so thick that it sticksaround. Greens to to balance out the decadence. All piled high on a brioche bun. Holy smokes. Read more

The BEST chicken sandwich I have ever had. Ingredients are fresh and food is made when ordered. The jambalaya on a stick is... unique and full of flavor. Sausage is really good and the breading was crisp and prepared well. Every now and then wecontemplate driving over an hour just for the food here because it is just that good. The two men working the inside were funand friendly. Read more

great takeout the night before new years. perfect comfort food for a cool rainy quarantine night. we had trouble picking... (although the guy working was super helpful) so we ended up getting maybe more than we needed. etoufee excellent. will returnwhen it's nicer weather - the patio is lovely and open-air, but the sofa was beckoning us ... Baton Creole?s food was on point, and the service and energy that Adam brought to the table made this place a home run. The... gumbo was absolutely delicious. The dark roux was fantastic, and the cajun boil potato salad was just magic. Per Adam?srecommendation, I finished my meal off with some bite-sized beignets. Definitely my go-to cajun spot in Austin from now on, andI?m excited to try some other menu items. FYI, this food truck is located in the back of the Shangri-La bar, and there arespace heaters by the tables. Very aesthetic - perfect ambience for a little date night! Read more

I loved that everything that said it was spicy was ACTUALLY spicy. Excellent vegan options that don't taste like you're... sacrificing anything. Super cute locale with a chill vibe. Drinks are available from the bar it's in the patio of Read more

5 stars for the food, but we had a hell of a time finding this place. My friend and I are not from Austin, so we were expecting... to come around to where the food truck was and order from it, but it was fenced in behind the bar in front, Shangrila. We thenentered Shangrila, and noticed there were Baton Creole menus on each table, so we waited at the bar to order, only to be told wehad to order at the truck in the lot behind the restaurant. We went through the back door (located on the left when you firstwalk in the restaurant) and ordered our food. So why would I give 5 stars? The food was sooo delicious. My friend got the gumbowith potato salad, and I got the vegan fried jambalaya on a stick. The vegan beignets were the best things I?ve ever had!!! Idream of them ???? Read more

We were looking to try a new food truck, and gave this place a shot. So glad we did. It's a little confusing to find - it's... located in the back of the bar Shangri-la (you have to walk through the bar to get to it, there's not another way around). Lots of picnic tables with sting lights. We tried the jambalaya, the crawfish etoufee, the side of crab boil potato salad, andthe beignets - all of it was amazing! The jambalaya was creatively served in almost like a corn dog -like style on a stick - sogood! Our favorite were the delicious beignets- perfect sweet end to the meal. And the girl that owns the truck is super nice. Will be back! Read more
