Reviews for Baby Acapulco in Austin, TX
Amazingly good food. Great waiter. Margaritas were a bit too strong for me. Though I don't drink much. Pricey. Not somewhere I... would come often. Big portion sizes. Dinner for two was about 60 dollars. Read more
The food was great, and the Margaritas were also amazing! The server we had brought the rating down. We never got a side that... was ordered, and didn't get refills at all. The waiter was really nonchalant about everything. Read more
Very good place to eat food was nice and fresh very nice inside very clean staff was sweet
For years I was a huge fan of Baby A?s food and Margaritas. After several years away i was excited to enjoy the old favorites.... The margaritas (tried a purple and a mango) tasted like cheap lime mix. The tortilla soup was good but not mind blowing like itonce was. We had a new server who was doing her best but we watched the manager lecture her instead of stepping in and helpingher. My date was enjoying a tea until we discovered the cup had some kind of slime stuck to the inside. Read more
Definitely a great place to getore authentic style Mexican food. Prices are about typical for most dine in restaurants.... Definitely would recommend. Servers were nice and attentive. Read more
Update: My friend had a major craving for the tortilla soup. Just as disappointed as before, got a total of 0 drink refills.... Severely understaffed. Jacques was holding it down the best he could, at least everybody got their food; should make this guy amanager. Older bus girl was working her tail off as well. Old but valid: Service at this location is terrible. The food here ispretty decent; the Chicken Tortilla soup is the highlight and the purple margaritas are local legend (if a bit over hyped). Thethree tables in my section all received inaccurate orders and 0 drink refills, we had plenty of time to discuss it while notbeing served. I almost didn't leave a tip, something I never do, because the service was so bad. Instead I decided to be niceand just let the server know that I wasn't going to stiff him on the tip, but that the service was really bad. His response tothis was to laugh and walk away from the table. Manager had an apologetic but unwilling to do anything about it attitude;honestly he looked defeated because he knows how bad the wait staff is. Ambience is obnoxiously loud with all concrete wallsand floors. General cleanliness was not disgusting but pretty dirty overall. Read more
I have not been to Baby Acapulco's in many years, but for some reason was really in the mood for one of their margaritas when I... was in town so my friend and I stopped in for some dinner. Walking in the location looked a little worn around the edges and inneed of an exterior paint job, but had the same memorable murals I remember. The bench seating vinyl was torn up, but, hey, youdon't come to Baby As for the decor. Our server was amazing, her name was scout. She had a bubbly personality and was veryresponsive and knowledgeable about the menu and had some good suggestions. I got a peach margarita that we topped with Chambordand some kind of yum rim topping. I enjoyed mine but my friend who ordered the line did not enjoy hers at all. We ordered chipsand queso to start and it was delivered quickly and was tasty. I got the combo platter with a beef crispy taco and a chickenenchilada, cilantro rice and borracho beans. SO good that I ordered some to go for my father who was recovering from surgery. Helived it as well. My friend ordered the chicken enchiladas with Tex-Mex sauce and cilantro rice and refried beans, she loved hermeal as well. Baby acapulcos is always a Austin staple, next time I visit I will definitely get the people purple eaterMargarita instead. ???? Read more
Great chips and salsa, great mexican food, margaritas are on point! But... Love the place with the food and drinks. One of the... selling points of the restaurant are their margaritas. If you are a Rooster Teeth fan, yes, this is the Baby A's they talkedabout. These margaritas are really good and worth trying. Food itself is pretty good and plenty. Burrito is gigantic, thetacos are plenty and the fajitas... Big. Like, fajita for 1 can feed 2 people. Worth it! ...But sadly, the location hasdeteriorated. Walls look old and scratch. Bathroom looks really old. And during COVID and Monkey Pox outbreaks the staff is notusing masks. Sadly, at the time there is no city wide order for health hazards so, hope servers stay safe. They are sometimesunderstaff but they are friendly and have treated us really well every time we visit. Cannot blame the server to cover a wholerestaurant sometimes. Please tip them for their effort at these times. It becomes really loud and crowded at night specially onthe weekends. There is no patio but they do have a "waiting area" inside isolated from everyone that is barely used but youcan't order drinks or eat on those tables. Which would be great for anyone who wants to isolate themselves from the crowd to besafe from crowds. Hope they allow dinning in the waiting area for their clients soon. Overall, it is still solid location forhanging out, trying margaritas and having really good fajitas. Read more
