Tried gator for the first time with a gator sandwich. The gator was deep fried but I would have liked a lighter coating of... batter to better taste the meat. They brought out a sampler of soups and gumbos for us to try; I really enjoyed their lobsterbisque. Lastly I tried their in-house hot sauce. Great place for some Cajun comfort food and Southern Hospitality. I got the Fried Seafood Platter (pictured below) and the... breading was perfectly delicate and light, a thin crispy layer around the outside and the natural juicy seafood inside. Greatvalue and quality plus a really cool atmosphere, I recommend this place to anyone craving southern food! Read more
I would give this 10 stars if I could. We were seated promptly and our waitress asked if we had ever been before. Sadly for us,... we hadn?t. They brought us a sampler platter (which we were not expecting) and we got to try some gumbos and jambalaya before weordered. We ended up ordering jambalaya, the voodoo pasta and hush puppies. Good stars all around. It was delicious. We had noless than 3 staff members check on us. They were attentive but not overbearing. The vibes were immaculate. A cup of chicken & seafood gumbo here is the size of a bowl anywhere else. It's delicious. Had I known the size, I might not... have ordered a shrimp Po boy. But I have no regrets. This was a great find. Not sure why everyone complains about getting served. Great service! Both young ladies that took care of... us were great! Super friendly and attentive. The fried Pickles were some of the best I've ever had! Crunchy, not too muchbatter. The fried Catfish was perfectly done. Not too much batter. Not over spiced. Just right. Fries and coleslaw were good,didn't really need the bread. So much food! Wifey had the fried shrimp, just awesome. Not over cooked, not chewy, justright. Everyone was smiling and the place just had a good atmosphere. People, you aren't in New Orleans, get over yourself, thiswas good food representing an amazing place to visit. I was bummed they were too busy to bring a sampler platter of the gumbo's, because it was my husband's first time trying it.... He'd heard me going on and on about all the different flavors and didn't get to try any except for ordering a whole bowl. Thestaff said they were too busy which we understood but then the table right next to us got one. Bummed but the food was stillgood.
