Western Steakhouse that fit perfectly with the mountain cabin theme of the Gaylord Rockies. Food selection was not... overwhelming, but simple and straight forward. You won?t be blown away by some crazy combination, but rather pleased by thetraditional preparation of the food and meat. The steak was fantastic, and the Bison was something to try for sure. Pleasantlysurprised. Now this is not a cheap place, so don?t expect a value meal. You get what you pay for here and the food and serviceis top notch. Read more

Our server was very patient and eager to explain all the fancy menu options. We decided to make a reservation in case the... weekend was busier than anticipated. I do recommend dressing up a little, our group showed up a little too casual but stillrecieved great service. We only had one issue with my sister's meal being a little too overcooked but the extremelyunderstanding staff were willing to work with us on an option that pleased everyone. Dining in is great way to experienceeverything this place has to offer. Read more

If you like Ruth Chris's, this is a step above in my opinion. Our waiter, Manny, was able to give us a great wine pairing... recommendation as well as explain a couple of the food options. We opted for the charcuterie board for an appetizer whichdelivered seasonal accoutrements of nuts, fruit, and olives and delicious cheeses. Our streaks were cooked perfectly and almostmelted in our mouths as did the scallops. The asparagus was perfectly crunchy as well. The dessert of peach Melba cheesecake wasscrumptious! We plan to go back for the steaks and to try the praline brownie we missed! Read more

The food was excellent and the waitstaff was top notch. Evie in particular knocked it out of the park with great wine... recommendations and pleasant banter throughout the meal. The steak was cooked perfectly to the temperature requested, thehollandaise was fantastic, and the hibiscus dessert from the set menu was picture perfect and delicious. Read more

Their steak is really the best I have ever tasted. It's tende, juicy and meaty. We also ordered the mac and cheese, scallops,... and their fries and they are so good. Read more

While in town for a meeting, we were treated to dinner at the Old Hickory Steakhouse. The restaurant is part of the Gaylord... hotel property and I feel this is the best meal there. My only complaint was due to the size of our group, we were given alimited menu. The menu was good, I would have just liked to try other things. We had a few cheese boards for the table with anumber of delicious options. They were all different and we were able to try a number of different options. I am not sure whatthey all were, but there wasn?t one I did not enjoy. Our limited menu came with the choice of a wedge salad or lobster bisque. Both would have been great choices and a very tough decision. The main course had a filet, pork, fish and chicken paired withsides. Being we were in a steakhouse, I went for the steak. The last part of the menu was a combo desert. All the food wasfantastic. The wedge salad had a great dressing and add ons. The steak was a little over what I normally prefer, however thetaste and texture was spot on. With a table of 20, I can see how getting everything out to perfection can be a challenge. Underthe steak we had asparagus and a creamy mashed potatoes. Both sides paired well with the steak and tasted wonderful. The desertwas a combo Crème Brule and some type of mouse. The Brule was far better then the other. The service was top notch. I did notget the server?s name, but he took great care of the table?especially with 20 of us. Drinks were always full and he wasattentive without being annoying. The normal menu is pricey, however, the experience is elevated to match. A few times duringthe night, the manager made his rounds to check and make sure everything was going well. That is a nice touch that many only doafter dinner. We will be back in the future and I hope we can have the same wonderful experience. Read more

Way over-priced steakhouse. My bison ribeye was 1/3 un-rendered fat, even after asking for a proper MR the second time around.... The saving grace was my daughter?s filet off the kids menu and our helpful server. Read more

Came here for dinner one night while staying here for a conference. The restaurant was very busy due to the influx of conference... participants looking for a dinner. We sat down in the wine room at a private table and everything was moving along nicely.Unfortunately due to the amount of patrons that were visiting the restaurant the time it took to get the food out to us wasobnoxiously long. Took us 45 minutes to get our appetizers followed by another hour to get our entrees. All told the dinnerlasted over 3 hours. Other than that the food was delicious, highly recommend trying the bread with cheese appetizer and thebison ribeye. Sides were also delicious with the mac and cheese stealing the show. Apart for the long wait for food everythingelse was done well, from the service, wine selection and food. Go with confidence. Read more
