I?ve had a good amount of Ethiopian around the Denver area and this has easily been the best one ! The waitress we had was also... the main chef ! She was so kind, sweet, and genuine! She talked to us about how no preservatives or canned food is used at all -and we truly tasted it in the food that was brought out ! All the injera here (the main spongey-like bread) is gluten free (asit traditionally is but not every place around town is). Also found out injera is one of the most nutrient dense grains outthere - super good for you! Yes, the food does take some time to come out (good fresh food should!) but not unreasonable -probably waited about 25-30 min while drinking from their fully stocked bar. We had 3 entrees (vegetarian, lamb, and a sizzlingbeef dish) for 4 people and that was the perfect amount. Will definitely be back to try some of their other meals! Read more

We came here in a big group and enjoyed what I would consider as one of the top 10 meals I've ever had. They make everything... from the freshest ingredients and you can taste it in ever bite. I had the shiro tegamino and I was stunned by both thepresentation (coals heating a cast iron bowl) and the flavor. The portions are amazing. We had a wonderful chat with the ownerabout how this stew takes 5 days to make and the injera takes 4 days. You can taste how they don't use any frozen ingredients, the flavors just meld wonderfully. When you come, it may take some time before the food comes out, but with that wait is qualitythat leapfrogs over other Ethiopian places I've been. Sit there, visit with your friends and family, and the food will be worththe wait. I wish I lived in Denver, this would probably be a weekly visit if I did. Read more

This is the BEST spot for Ethiopian food! I took my parents here when they were in town and they loved it so much they requested... it a second time before flying out. We visited twice in three days! The owner and chef, Seble, is amazing. So kind and patientand insanely hard working. Everything is made from scratch so you do have to be patient as service can take time, but it?s soworth it. You can?t go wrong with anything on the menu. This is my new favorite spot! Read more

I was passing through Denver and wanted Ethiopian food. Picked this restaurant because of its high ratings. I was not... disappointed. I can't say enough good about the wonderful vegetarian food (had the veggie combo-8 items). I've eaten in about20 different Ethiopian restaurants and make a few dishes myself. The food here is among the best I've had. PS. T'ej comes inaberela. Ample portions, friendly service. Atmosphere plain, but go for the food. Read more

It's said that the best Ethiopian restaurants in the US are in D.C. -- and that city does have some incredible gems. But! We are... extraordinarily lucky to have a local Ethiopian restaurant that competes with the best of the D.C. Ethiopian eateries: andthat's Chef Seble's Eatopia. To be totally honest, Eatopia isn't exactly local for us: it's a 45 minute drive from Boulder. Andyet, we keep making that drive. Eatopia is hands-down my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in the area. (It's usurped Megenagna forme, which -- to be clear -- is still good!) Seble's food is utterly delicious and balanced. Get the vegetable platter, andyou'll be presented with an array of fresh vegetable stews and dishes, along with a vibrant green salad. Her sambusas arefreshly stuffed and fried to order, resulting in one of the most delightful food experiences you'll ever have. I particularlylove the lentil sabusas ... they're garlicky treasures! We always gobble up the tibs (particularly the beef awaze), which arewell-spiced and delicious. And the doro wot! That sauce is just wonderful. What stands out to me the most, however, is theinjera. Injera is so difficult to get right! I've tried making it at home, and, after two weeks of waiting for everything toferment, my results were subpar at best. Ethiopian restaurants seem to be hit or miss with injera. It's just hard to hit theright note with that fermentation. And yet: Seble's injera is *perfection*. Pillowy soft, obviously fresh, and the perfectamount of sour. She's figured out how to make an injera that's consistently toothsome. In fact, all of the small children in myfamily love Seble's injera so much that they eat it by itself! As far as the ambiance goes, don't expect a super quickturnaround or a formal environment. Eatopia is a very casual place, which I really appreciate as the mother to a rambunctiousthree-year-old. (My kid loves it there.) The restaurant feels like a casual hangout spot where you can make yourself at hom Read more

First time trying Ethiopian food and loved it! The waitress walked me through some of the menu. The chef then came out and... fielded my questions and explained how to enjoy the food. Family owned and the food is made with love!! Also accidentallystopped in on Ethiopian Christmas. The chef gave me a traditional Ethiopian chicken and egg stew (I believe it?s called dorowot) to enjoy as their guest. Wow! It was great . Y?all gotta check it out! Melkam genna!???? Read more
