I had heard a lot of good things about Top Dawg Tavern, but between work and life travel yesterday was my first experience since... opening. Absolutely love the place - seems like they had a lot of local flair from the Augusta area represented inside alongwith a lot of State theme stuff which was very cool. The menu has awide variety so the Bar Manager (Emma), whose second to none,took the time to ensure we had a great experience by directing us through the menu with her sample opinions and I have to say -she had it spot on for all of our group's taste!!!! First time eating here...last time eating here. We had traveled all day and decided to finally try Top Dawg Tavern on our way... back home. We were tired and hungry. We were seated promptly and but then had to wait for ages for a waitress to come by. Shetook our drink orders and then we didn't get to order our meals for ages. She did bring the drinks and said she would be back. It was at least 20 to 30 minutes before she came back. When she did she wreaked of cigarette smoke. Why couldn't she havetaken our order before going out to smoke? Our food arrived pretty quickly which surprised me. As another reviewer commented,all of the wait staff was sitting on the other side of the dining room just chatting and visiting with one another. When wefinished we again had to wait for ages to get our ticket so we could pay and leave. We were in plain view of all the other waitstaff AND the hostess but no one bothered to see if we needed anything. When she finally showed up my boyfriend told her wewanted our ticket. She brought it and he paid. She went away and when she came back she plopped down the change and shestormed off barely saying anything to us. I don't know why she had an attitude with us when she was the one who had been gonefor most of our meal. We won't be back. The food was ok but nothing special. I ordered the shrimp & flounder for lunch. The shrimp were very tiny and looked as if they were not real shrimp. The flounder... has to be already cooked fish and was over cooked. I went with 4 of my Co workers and neither one of us ate our food. The waiterstated she went to the manager and explained we were not pleased. Instead of offering us another meal we were presented with (1)$10.00 gift certificate for the entire table. We did not want a free meal just to be accommodated. Big bar area. Lots of TVs for sports. Food is decent. About what you would expect for better than average pub food. Seating at... most tables has views of TVs. They have daily specials and a fairly good happy hour specials. Service is usually good. Read more

I ate here on a Tuesday night. They have a happy hour Monday through Friday until 7pm. Unfortunately with it being football... season they were out of a lot choices. Staff was friendly. Food came out quick, hot, and tasted fresh. My only complaint is thatthe burger patty is smaller than the circumference of the bun. Read more
