Reviews for The Boll Weevil Cafe and Sweetery in Augusta, GA
Such a beautiful little spot in Augusta. A small place with a WHOLE LOT of flavor. This place has something special going on in... that kitchen. Never thought my favorite shrimp and grits would come from a restaurant in Augusta, but here we are. The shrimpand grits were superb in every way. It was flavorful and was not lacking in any way. I was unfortunately too full from the gritsto get any cake but I?ve only heard the best about it. If I could give a place 6 stars I would give it here. The beer on draftwas great as well. They had a wide selection to choose from. The servers were extremely helpful and knew what were the bestthings to order. Hunter was awesome and very helpful. He was a great server and checked in on me numerous times. This isdefinitely a go to place in Augusta. Read more
I would like to start with a detailed description of the rusty, kind of cool interior but have to jump ahead to say that I had... some of the best cheesecake and clearly the best blueberry cheesecake in my life. The slice was big and the cake so rich that Ididn't even regret that I had ordered the dessert with two forks. The chipotle black bean burger banh mi style was a goodvegetarian sandwich and I enjoyed the accompanying chips with Texas Pete. The beer selection was a mix of local and popularAmerican crafts and was offered at a surprisingly low price. I was happily surprised when all pints came filled to the brim andthe charming waitress never spilled a drop. I like friendly service, decent beers, and I enjoy flavorful food. This place hitall three criteria with top marks. The only thing I would wish for is an expansion of their sides. Pasta salad or chips is a bitboring and not the lightest or freshest sides. Read more

This is a cute place close to the riverfront with great service. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were delicious... and I loved the dipping sauce. Then I got the Boll Weevil salad and my partner got the jerk chicken sandwich. The sandwich wasgood and so was the pasta salad, but the boll weevil salad ingredients didn't all mesh together. It tasted like the ingredientscould have created two separate salads. The cornbread it came with was delicious though. We did also get cake and pie to gowhich were absolutely amazing and I would definitely return for more desserts. Read more
Had lunch today at this downtown restaurant. It was very good. Seated quickly, nice server, delicious food (especially the soups... and desserts). The building has been in the family for four generations. Near the River and across from the Marriott. Wouldabsolutely go eat there again? or at least grab some cake to go!! Read more
My turkey soup was awesome, service staff was very friendly & attentive and I adore the canary lemon cake. I would have given... them 5 stars but unfortunately the shrimp & grits lacked in flavor. But overall it was a great experience. Read more
Very good food , I had the Gumbo and corn chowder soup that was out of this world! They serve the gumbo in those bowls with the... hump in the middle that only gives you the feeling you are getting more visually. But you are not, and feeling ripped off. Stopthat! The waiters could be nicer, not so "what do you want" attitude. Read more
Cute place! I bet the desserts are to die for. But we came here to eat dinner. Nothing special really. To start, we ordered the... fried green tomatoes. I liked it. Never had it before. For our dinner, I ordered the soup and salad combo. Chili and housesalad. The Chili could?ve been warmer, but delicious. My husband ordered the jerk chicken plate. Way too seasoned?to the pointyour mouth twitches. I would definitely come to just get dessert. Read more
