Reviews for Nino's Italian House in Auburn Hills, MI
I rarely leave reviews, but I feel like it?s important to be honest on here since the reviews were what led me to one of the... worst meals I?ve ever had. I have zero complaints about the physical restaurant or servers, but the food was terrible. The saladwas bland and poorly chopped, bread was old and chewy like a dry sponge, and the pasta dish I ordered was supposed to have?roasted veggies? and garlic. The veggies were steamed, pasta was over-cooked, and the dish was comparable to a frozen meal butwith less flavor. I asked for warm marinara sauce to mix in to try to fix it and it came out with gritty pieces like sand in it,which I didn?t notice until I had mixed it in. Just horrible. To make matters worse, I took tiramisu to go and it?s like eatingthe foam from a couch with some cocoa dusted on top (see pictures attached). I absolutely hate being picky, but this meal wasprepared completely carelessly and I wouldn?t want anyone else to have to pay for such a disappointing meal since there areother options nearby. Not authentic Pasta over cooked and vegetables were all frozen, mushrooms were canned. Also the chicken was not fresh chicken... breast. Caesar salad had nothing but romaine and light dressing.. no parm no croutons (they were out?) sister in law had lasagnait had like 10 layers of noodles with no filling. We did ask for parm and they brought out was not fresh. Was superdisappointed. Service was great, young girl was really nice. Read more
Went out for date night with another couple and were pretty nervous when we read the negative reviews. We planned to just have... a cocktail and then go elsewhere for dinner, but then we decided to stay and see for ourselves what the experience would belike. Here is our take: Waitress was okay. Maybe she was new, but we had to flag her down every time we needed refills on thewater or more wine. The food was actually pretty good. I actually liked the red sauce a lot, which, being Italian and a homechef myself, was certainly a surprise. The atmosphere was very warm and inviting and we ended up staying so long chatting, weordered dessert. It too was okay. The brownie and ice cream was good, but I would have rather had hot fudge and not chocolatesauce, but it wasn't bad. All in all, it was just middle of the road. Not 5-star fabulous, but certainly not 1-star horrible. Read more
I have never had a more bland flavorless gross dish. My meal was described as having roasted veggies. The identifiable veggies... in it were definitely frozen and canned. The Caesar salad I ordered was even gross?.how do you mess up a salad?! The bread waseven stale sliced hard baguette served with diner packets of butter. Super disappointed. Waitress we had was kind but definitelynot the greatest at her job. Our glasses were never refilled and she didn?t really offer much of a solution when we told her thefood was gross. None of it was touched when we left. I don?t know how this place is still in business honestly. It reminds me ofa restaurant that needs to be on kitchen nightmares. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Do not go here. Read more
The food was not good. Not much meat in any dish. Kinda tasted like frozen food to us. The waitress was very cheerful. But slow.... Not sure of the pizza as we got pasta. Read more
We were really excited to try here, being that we were from out of town. Apparently should've read reviews first, live and... learn. Fried ravioli had no plating, just a few thrown on a large plate. What started the real issue was when there was a bugcrawling in my salad, not a gnat they fly and then one in my daughter's salad as well. Both salads were different types oflettuces. My husband's lasagna had 20 layers of pasta with what appeared to be no filling. My chicken cremosi tasted good but mystomach has been upset into the the next morning. 2 stars for the waitress who was apologetic and kind. Read more
Drove 4 hours down for a lions game (disappointing enough), until we stopped at this restaurant excited for a nice Italian meal.... Ordered fried calamari?.was the texture of a rubber band slightly breaded in flour. Sent back barely eaten. We ordered thehomeade fresh lasagna and my wife ordered rigatoni Marsala with chicken/mushroom. I had 15 layers of noodles (see picture withnoodles torn apart) with no trace at all of filling and a bland sauce while her meal was a pile of noodles with a sour tastingsauce and 2 pieces of grey chicken and canned mushrooms. (Not an exaggeration). This was absolutely some of the lowest qualityplating and lowest quality food we have ever had in our life. We ordered some takeout as well to take to our hotel which camewith some potato soup that reminded us of flavorless tapioca pudding. The waitress was pretty slow but super nice and she compedour main meals because we had them tore apart and disgusted but being I never complain about food no matter the quality becauseI myself am a chef at a restaurant and know some places just skimp and I deal with it but this was a whole new level so wedecided to pay the takeout and calamari. This place has the perfect atmosphere but my god they need someone with a couple braincells. Go down the road to the gas station and enjoy better quality food. 1 star for the nice waitress. P.S the great reviewsare from people that are obviously high. Read more
Very nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very nice portion sizes for the price. Fed a family of three for less than $40, we all... left with full bellies. The kids pizza is huge. My family will frequent this place often. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Read more
