We enjoyed our stay at the hotel as well as the dinner and morning brunch. Has old fashioned fell to it but rooms were very... nicely updated with modern amenities. The brunch in the morning has everything you could imagine to eat and the service wasamazing too. Will definitely be going back for another visit in the near future. 4 years later (Update). Went back for anothervisit and things have changed. The hotel is still the same and people were friendly so I wish I wasn't giving a bad review. Unfortunately the fact that they are know for a B and B and have a terrible continental breakfast is a joke. Especially sinceI specifically asked if they still had the breakfast buffet they had always been known for. Dinner is way overpriced andselection is not for everyone. Another staple of the Springside was the Cheese Souffle, no longer available at dinner. I trulywanted to love it here again but felt like an overpriced room with no other experience worth the money. Had wonderful lunch, while on bus trip to Merry-go-round Theater. Roast beef dinner was excellant

The building is charming. The grounds are beautiful. Some of the staff are really friendly, helpful and responsive. The location... is nice enough, not far from the lake, but with no direct access or particular view. The Inn is sort of like a B&B but with apoor breakfast. The structure is old, and sound insulation is minimal. Our room was quite large, but the bathroom was extremelysmall, maybe 5x7 feet in all with a very small shower. The fixtures and furnishings in the room are old. The bed was comfortablebut very creaky, okay for sleeping if you don't move around. Lots of windows with screens, and a good minisplit airconditioner. All of that makes for a reasonable stay, but not worth the prices charged. There doesn't appear to be nighttimestaffing. Our second night there, other guests on our floor were drunk and noisy. At 10:15 I called management and the personwho answered (one of the innkeepers?) said she would come over and speak to the guests. At 11:00 the noise continued and I hadto go into the hall to explain the problem and ask them to be quieter. A "continental breakfast" was advertised. We discoveredit was Motel 6 quality: self-serve, coffee in paper cups, thawed bagels with a toaster, cereals with shared milk in therefrigerator, a shared jar of jam in the fridge. Very disappointing. We had a dinner in the restaurant with its own share ofshortcomings, but at full price, but that's another story. Anyway, we made our own fun and had an okay time: but we found theInn offered poor value, and our experience did not match up to the many 5-star reviews here in Google. I appreciate that runninga service business is not easy these days, and I wish the innkeepers well, but on the basis of our two nights there we wouldn'trecommend it. Read more

This was the last day of our 2 month road trip and one of the most memorable time. Room 33 had both shower and claw foot tub and... the bed was comfortable. Sage and the whole staff was very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. Read more
