Reviews for Monkey Cat | Restaurant & Bar in Auburn, CA
Definitely had an amazing experience here for my 21st birthday. Erika ( I hope I spelt it right) along with other staff members... were super attentive and very very kind! I would definitely come back just because of the service but the food was outrightdelicious along with some tasty cocktails. An easy 10/10 if you’re debating on where to go this is the place. Service was top notch. Everything else about this place was terrible. Even the mixed drink I got has no booze in it. The flat... iron steak for 32$ was terrible and came with French fries and nothing else. It was so loud in there we couldn’t stand it.Maybe the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Great little spot. Small, easy menu with delicious options. We had the calamari as an app and it was on point. Rings and legs... that were nice and crispy. I had the salmon with asparagus and rice. Price was a little high but flavor matched. All in all agood night out. They also have a good little drink menu. Read more

The server was so nice and knowledgeable, our food was amazing and the drinks were delicious! I'm definitely going here again!
My friends and ourselves were on a double date in downtown auburn and decided to stop and try this restaurant because the food... seemed appetizing. The water guy was amazing as every few minutes he kept coming back and filling up our waters. The food wasvery good. The calamari was honestly the best cooked that we have had in a long time. Salads had fresh ingredients, the seafoodto pasta ratio in the seafood pasta was very generous. Food came out about as fast as you would expect for a packed Saturdaynight. The look of the restaurant was cute and fun. This place was clearly very popular. The olive oil was light and fresh andthe vinegar was not too pungent. The bread was sourdough and was fresh enough but not right out of the oven. I marked down 2stars for three main reasons, the restrooms were always occupied and were clearly not adequate to the amount of guests. Thesecond reason was the price we paid vs the relatively small portions we got with things like the crab cakes. Bonus reason, wearrived a few minutes before they opened and they easily could of let us sit but turned us away for the few minutes left beforeopening. The third reason, is that our waitress gave my friend the look of death when he asked her not to throw away salad evenif it didn't come out right. They asked for their salad with dressing on the side and it came out with dressing in it, and beingthat they didn't want to waste food they asked if the salad was going to be tossed and if it was just to leave it. The waitressvery quickly grabbed the salad and gave my friend the look of death and said "no! We are going to throw it away" it really justruined the mood of the evening. It made us feel like we were trash just because we didn't want food in the trash. Keep in mindit was their kitchen that messed it up. It was clear that our waitress had too much to handle that night because she was givingstern talkings to the other staff from what we could tell. So atmosphere wise this place se Read more
Terrific bartender pouring exquisite drinks! We had the baked brie and crostini and they aren’t skimping on the brie. Followed... up with the veggie stir fry in chile coconut sauce which is warm, delicious and comforting as a curry. The cuts of steaks lookedravishing as well. Will definitely come back whenever we’re in Auburn. Read more
