Reviews for Carpe Vino Auburn in Auburn, CA
Had a beautiful & delicious dinner last night here with friends. My pork chop was cooked perfectly and I could cut it with a... butter knife. Everyone else had the Sea Bass and they loved it. The suggested wine paired perfectly with the fish. A veryenjoyable evening at Carpe Vino. Read more
The pork chop was so moist and tasty for such a think cut! Also enyoyed the oysters and fig appetizer!!! Highly recommend.
I have been enjoying Carpe Vino for many years. Consistently good food. I am a member of the wine club and look forward to great... selections. Last night had the unfornutate experience with service. Waiter ignored my table while lavishing service and engagingin lengthy conversation with table next to mine. Had to ask hostess to bring soup after an at least 15-20 minute wait. She wasattentive and substituted a different waiter, Alian, who did a great job with humor and great service. My point- we all deservesame level of service no matter our wine order (they ordered expensive bottle and me only a glass. 1/3/19-I was contacted by co-owner and was sent gracious message. I want to express myappreciation for his attention to my experience and also emphasize the appropriate and excellent service provided by Alain andPatti. These individuals have exemplified how a poor experience can be addressed and made more positive. Also would like to addthat food is Always superior. Read more
Excellent, locally sourced and excellently prepared cuisine, and great, friendly knowledgeable service, with a 5 star wine list,... even by the glass, which is a rarity even in the best restaurants in the area. My only complaint is if something doesn't seem asdescribed on the menu, there is no trust that something may have gone wrong in the kitchen and this leaves the customer feelingunheard and untrusted. Fortunately, these issues are minor, and the food is still superb, but you get the sense the chef isarrogant and not willing to possibly be wrong...my guess is he will never get a Michelin star with this attitude...plus, we weare long term wine club members and that doesn't seem to matter - which tells you even more about the way things are run there. With all that said, all we hope is that this honest review opens someone's eyes and tries to correct what is otherwise the bestrestaurants and wine bar/club in the area! Gorgeous little wine bar and eatery nestled in the quaint town of Auburn from the moment that you walk in with the exposed brick... walls and the industrial look you know you found the place that will fulfill both your appetite and your cravings for some finewine. Our server was extremely well-versed on his wine and the menu. I would have preferred not to have had to have a salespitch regarding their wine club but it was short and concise and no pressure so I can overlook that based on the quality of thefood and service Read more
We enjoyed our visit. A planned birthday celebration. We partook in a bottle of Italian wine, 3 appetizers, olives, cheeses,... and lamb, along with our main meals of Pasta and a very tender steak. Staff were personable and the Birthday was perfect. Wewill return. Read more
Fantastic experience and food. Service was awesome. First time for us. 5 stars.
I was shocked with how much I loved this restaurant. After a 9-mile hike, we changed our shoes and headed in for a quick bite. ... The quick bite turned into a 6-hour dinner where we sampled 4 appetizers, two entrees, a dessert, and who knows how many glassesof wine, plus coffee and mezcal cocktails. Everything was amazing. The food was divine. The service was outstanding, and thestaff was warm and personable. We spent entirely more money than two people should on a night out, but it was well worth it!10/10 would recommend! We got the brussel sprouts, calamari, tempura squash, and cauliflower soup. My favorite was the Brussels. For the mains we got the bacon-wrapped quail (which had a lot going on but the flavors tied together marvelously) and theravioli. We finished it off with pana cotta, which was scrumptious. All of this, a bottle of wine to-go, 8 individual glassesof wine, and two mezcal cocktails were about $220, so very reasonably priced in the grand scheme. Read more
