Our first visit and they did not disappoint. The spinach and artichoke dip was very delicious. I apparently got one of the... largest pieces of chicken with the mac & cheese entree. It was a little dry but nothing a lil' blue cheese couldn't remedy. Mywife's salmon was very tender. Looking forward to our next visit. Read more

What a great find. My wife and I went for a relaxing lunch and weren't disappointed. The friendly greeting to the warm service... were top notch. We chose to sit on the outdoor patio which was perfect. I had the rum salmon salad blackened. Delicious. Mywife had the turkey lavash wrap which she loved. Definitely will return. Read more

Great bloody Mary!! The rum salmon salad was very good, according to my cousin, he said the salmon quality was not as good as... he is used to (from the pacific northwest). My wife had the crab cake avacado sandwich and liked it a lot. The red eye eggsBenedict was not my favorite. It was billed as a country ham but came out as glazed ham and not the salty goodness of southerncounty ham that I am used to. Great atmosphere and decent prices. Read more

Amsterdam Cafe was on a list of best restaurants in AL, so we wanted to give it a try. Such a cute venue! Looks like a tiny,... quaint little cafe but, evidently it goes way back & is actually quite spacious! Menu is somewhat limited, sides are few. Fooddescriptions are interesting. The Crab Cakes have been listed as one of the 100 top meals to try before you die. Despitedescription stating croissant, we have never had a crab cake served in a croissant before. Think it would be better served on alettuce bed, perhaps 2 crab cakes rather than just 1. The salsa & sauce served alongside were delicious, but the crab cakeitself does not compare to ones we've enjoyed in WA state or in New England. There was also a honey mustard sauce included whichI used on my Chicken, Cheese, & Bacon Sandwich on a Ciabatta Bun as it needed a little extra something. Supposedly a condimentwas to be on the bread, but if it was there, I could not find it. We both chose fresh made sweet potato chips which came outgreasy & soggy. Some of mine crisped up after awhile, but my husband's never did & remained greasy, leathery, & inedible. Isuppose it was my bad for not requesting the bacon on my sandwich be cooked very well done, and not sure if that was theproblem, but I made it the 60 mile drive home before I became violently ill. So although the cafe is adorable, service isexcellent, it is doubtful we will return. Hopefully it was just an unfortunate day for Amsterdam Cafe. Read more

Our server, Cody, was great. Very personable and friendly. Hubby had the steak sandwich and the meat was so tender! The burger... was cooked perfectly and the bacon was tasty. The Carolina fries stole the show though. We’ll be back for the fish and chipsnext time. Read more

Service was great. Food was excellent. One less star because of price. Seemed to be more pricey than what I remembered from my... last visit. Read more
