The General Muir is an amazing delicatessen! Everything I ordered was phenomenal. I started with some pommes frites, which were... fried and seasoned to perfection. My friend and I split the Avenue A which combined grapefruit, lox, cream cheese, and avocado(pictured on the side due to my allergy) on a bagel. It sounds like a lot, but everything actually went really welltogether! As for sandwiches, I ordered the Reuben and my friend got a pastrami sandwich, which he said was excellent. ThatReuben was easily the best Reuben I've ever had. Loaded up with corned beef, it was warm and cheesy, and I would not have askedfor it any other way. I will definitely be coming back! Read more

We came for dinner tonight and everything was delicious. The pastrami was peppery and tender, the matzah ball soup was perfect,... and the cheesecake was awesome. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive and the rest of the staff was, as well. We'lldefinitely be back in the future. Read more

This place is amazing but price wise is just too much. I had a 28 dollar pastrami sandwich which don’t get me wrong was a lot... of meat but add a coke to that and tip and it’s a 40 dollar lunch which is IMHO too much. Again nothing to say on design, ambiance, cleanliness, service and quality of the food but price wise is just too much.. Read more

It was our first time here and were we blown away by our experience. Our server, Emma, was so sweet and attentive. Her... recommendations for cocktails were so spot on. There were so many delicious options that we honestly found it hard to choose. Mysalmon was really well cooked and not too well done and the braised short rib was so tender. You can tell everything from thegravy until the desserts were fresh. This was my first time eating poutine and I can’t believe I was missing out for thislong. If you’re looking for a more casual date night and you want good food with reasonable portion sizes, give this place ashot. This is definitely in my top 10 date night spots in ATL by far! Read more

My wife saw a review for The General Muir, and decided she'd like to check out out. We didn't have any particular expectations... beyond a "decent sandwich shop," and were most happily surprised. Any time I see a house-special French Toast, I can't helptrying it. The Pecan Crusted French Toast alone was worth the trip. A Cubano rounded my meal out perfectly. My wife, meanwhile, was very happy with her Fish & Potatoes, although you might want to order a side or two with that one. Their Bloody Mary, onthe other hand, is remarkably generous, and delicious. We can't wait to come back, but REMEMBER: if you're coming by just forthe food, ask to get your parking validated before you leave! "Two hours free with validation." Read more

It’s been far too long since I last went to The General Muir, so I’m glad my wife and I went out for a date night. I love... the vibe of the place as kind of an upscale delicatessen, but you’ve still got classic tunes playing over the speakers. Asfor the food, it’s absolutely delicious. I got the double stack burger and it was sublime. Easily one of the burgers inAtlanta. My wife got the pastrami and matzah ball soup and loved it. We’re definitely coming back and this time the waitwon’t be so long. Read more

Lovely experience. Lives up to its hype. We came in at 5 pm on sat Feb 5th and sat at the bar. Erin was our host, server and... comedian. She was great. We had 2 sandwiches with covered fries and desert. Will recommend. Thanks Read more

Just moved to SS and discovered this place! I have been here TWO days in a row I love it so much (and wanted to try lunch, then... breakfast). I had the hearts of romaine and added pastrami-it was incredible. Pastrami is sliced thick and super tasty! Wefinished with cheesecake. The next morning I had the poached eggs and grits. Highly, highly recommend if you love savory butit's not too much food! My date had the smoked hash. The hash is a TON of food and I would recommend splitting it. Service wasphenomenal both times. Our waiter, Esteban, was like my food guide and I cant wait to come back. My top recs are: any and allbread there (bagels, toasts), pastrami, the desserts. Try it all! Read more
