This place is OK on average. I expected real glass for our drinks but was given plastic instead. They charge 20% gratuity which... is sad when the waitress doesn’t perform up to performance of a Golden Corals hostess. Yes, I wrote Golden Coral hostess whichhas been a better service coordinator than my Spice House waitress. The food was mediocre and overly hyped by the public. Inshort, visit for yourself and experience the vibe! As for me, this was a one time experience! ???? Read more

I forgot my waitress' name but she was awesome! She had a burgundy ponytail, Luscious lashes and a beautiful, deep skin tone.... Probably one of the best I've seen in the city so far in my 10-month tenure. I came for a day party and brunch at 1p on aSaturday & I absolutely loved the vibe. It was the beauty that the guests offered and the food. I had the oxtail and grits witha few mimosas. My drinks were perfect. I had a blast; I will be back. Read more

Me and my Crew went to Spice House on Friday, April 8, 2022 (afternoon) 12:30pm. Three of us wanted the turkey wings and was... disappointed to find they didn't have any!!!. I'm thinking it's early in the day, how can they be out of food already. Myfriend reminded me of the shortage going on right now. Okay, I get it! At any rate, for starters we order Spice House eggroles. Then the Oxtails with Rice and Peas. There was an order mix up and they gave us Black Rice (Haitian rice) instead butmade up for it by bringing out bowls of Rice and Peas (really tasty with oxtail juice on it which costs 50 cents each). Can Itell you the food was delicious. Our other friend had the lobster macaroni. I tasted it and it was delicious. Another had thecreole pasta, I didn't taste that. The other friend had Oxtails with pasta. Overall, the food was well seasoned and tasty. We all enjoyed our food! Our server was really pleasant and attentive She deserved a generous tip! The manager came out totalk with us to make sure we were alright after the mix up. He was really nice too. I would recommend eating at the SpiceHouse Midtown location. Side note: we all had the lemonade ... a bit pricey ($5) for the small glass served with lots of ice ...no refill! You get where I'm coming from with this! Also, GET SOME TURKEY WINGS! :-) Read more

My husband and I have been looking forward to going to this place for some time now. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment.... My husband is from Miami so Caribbean food is his thing. He likes Snapper and Griot which is what he ordered. The presentationwas nice but the flavor was not there at all. I tried to order fried green tomatoes but they didn’t have them. They did nothave any appetizers except the egg rolls which we ordered and was not impressed. I ordered the lamb chops which our waiter saidwas really good. It really wasn’t. I’ve had way better lamb chops and I make way better lamp chops. The mashed potatoes andbroccoli had no flavor at all. We ended up not finishing the food and just paid the tab and left. But before the waiter broughtus 2 separate checks one with drinks and the other with food and tried to charge us tax and 20% gratuity on each. We had him goback and put everything in one check. On a good note the southern belle was a good drink but not good enough for us to go back.I’m glad we got it out of our system but this is a place that I would definitely not recommend. Read more

My entree was very enjoyable, the red snapper was recommended by the bartender and it was very good. The bartender was very... talkative and added to the atmospher, the staff was very entertaining and eager to serve. The kitchen staff came out and ask ifour meal was good. I only wish the side items were tastier and hot like the fish. It was a beautiful presentation for me and myfriends food! We shared and I felt the same about missing "spice bang" in his tropical seafood dish. However, this is a nicedate spot ..they have karaoke which I think is fun... But I was there during lunch.. it is well lit, with vibrant deco, andsmiles from all crew members. Its located near a highway exit for quick pop in. The food didn't take a decade!!! I ordered theappetizer after I ordered my entree but they came out first as expected that really impressed me!!! I did not enjoy the jerkchicken egg rolls ...while it's a nice egg roll it wasn't what I expected. Thumbs up if you agree. But overall four stars niceit's an "Experience" restaurant. Sadly, They do not serve goat. Hopefully the score posted in the front of the restaurant can beraised that really concerned me walking in. Read more

First time we went to Spice House they had just opened and were still “working out the kinks”! So, we overlooked the service... issues, no coffee or Bloody Marys (at brunch)… but the food was very good. The shrimp and grits were very good and the jerkchicken was great. Decided to give them another chance… the service was great, but the food was sub-par at best. Ordered the“Cajun” fish and grits and was very disappointed. There was nothing “Cajun” about the very small/thin strip of fishserved over hardened grits. My wife had jerk chicken and waffles… waffles were fair, but the chicken was good. We had to askfor syrup. They still do not offer coffee or Bloody Marys at brunch. ??????? Read more

My partner and I came here for our first New Year’s Day restaurant meal and they had a special menu at this time. We ordered... our drinks first and absolutely love them, they definitely put enough alcohol in the drinks. As a vegetarian the nice waitresswith red hair helped me make a sort of veggie plate with sides and I loved it. The rice and beans have the traditional scotchbonnet pepper heat to them. The brussel sprouts were perfectly seasoned and roasted. The broccoli was fully cooked but lacked inthe seasoning department. As for my partners meal, when it first came out, we noticed the salmon was quite pink. After mypartner ate about 3 bites the waitress came over to have the plate remade because it was definitely UNDERCOOKED. When the newsalmon came out it still had some slight pink to it, but was more cooked. Unfortunately the undercooked salmon did cause mypartner to VOMIT after we got home. Lastly, I also ordered the avocado toast, and I loved that. It normally has shrimp on it,but I asked for no meat. It was coco bread toasted on a waffle iron with avocado and black eyed peas. I was skeptical at firstabout the black eyed peas, but it’s a great new year tradition and wasn’t bad at all. Read more
